Kev and Russel are coaching.
YS just didn't happen this year, as per the other dev squads. (although I think that Rising Stars dev squad did eventually get off the ground for 1995 & 96 girls.)
State team trials will take place much earlier as a consequence of this apparently.
Do you know why the dev. squads didn't happen? Is it to do with FFSA stepping in?

Re: development
billy the kid commented what pvfc said about development squads:
WTF is the bleached surfy doing coaching the YS’s?
They are always shifting the chairs on the Titanic and coming up with the same stuff but with a different name. Same old same old same old. I suppose with every new generation there comes the excitement of not knowing about the system until you’re tossed out. Tis way people think its something new rather than history repeating.
It’s a simple game with a simple concept that is over coached and complicated. That’s how jobs are kept and managers are kept confused….
Better level of coaching and development is needed. And not in a gym or science lab! That’s where the coaches mettle is exposed.
Hey Billy the Kid, what do you mean about Russell? What's wrong with him helping Kevin??? Plus, if these are the coaches we have, they are the ones that are used I think! Who else wanted that job? He's been a state coach and premier coach so he should be fine...but if not, who do you think should do those jobs? Who coaches women's soccer and can give something to these girls then?
Wendy Carter?
Tracey Jenkins?
Max?
Eduardo?
Would they be any good? Why don't they do it then???
And especially, what should Kev do? Invent a new coach so it's not same old same old?
What do people think? In the end, development is the most important thing isn't it?

Re: development
ET, I think it was due to a lack of direction or information from FFA about age groups for next years nationals.Easy Tiger wrote:Do you know why the dev. squads didn't happen? Is it to do with FFSA stepping in?
They tend to align dev squads with the age groups required for state teams in the following year.
As this info seems to have been provided too late, they will now be going straight to state team trials early next year. At least this will give the state coaches longer with their teams, rather than the typical 6 weeks or so they normally have.
Anyway, that is my perception of what happened - if you really want to know then ask someone at FFSA.

ET. What a tripper
The blonde surfy's had more departures and arivals at sasi than the planes at the airport.
I think if you read past topics re: state coaching you will find your answers there.
Who do I suggest? Not those quoted. The good ones ran away from the womens scene many many many years ago.

Re: development
Ive been told that some local coaches are considering running a development squad for the girls to give them an opportunity. Shows fantastic initiative and also shows that there some people that care about development.
