Inter vs Juventus

Post by Juventino »

The Derby d'Italia at the San Siro next Saturday night. Juventus have won the last two of these San Siro meeting' 2-1.

No Trezegol this time, but I wonder if Burdisso will be in a generous mood again?

Mourinho concluded with a few words about next Saturday's 'derby d'Italia'. "Games against title rivals aren't decisive in November, but it will be a nice game to play because it's a great clash and I prefer to face an in-form Juve."

I always look forward to this fixture as these no team in the world I hate with more passion.
We need to win this one to stay in touch with Inter or we'd just fall further behind.

Usually? that's how its been described but it is between Juve and Inter. We have never been relegated for form , just by an Inter controlled court. The most corrupt club in world football, Inter the French dogs.

Interesting to note that at the San Siro Inter are doing the bare minimum this season - 6 goals scored (only 2 conceded). But importantly for them they've won 4 and drawn once.

As far as the Derby Della Mole is concerned, I don't think anybody would claim it is the biggest in Italy. It was certainly up there in the 70s/early 80s when Toro were a very solid team and of course in 76 a Scudetto winning team. Wouldn't call it the biggest, it is up there though in the top 3 or 4. It is the derby with the most Scudetti combined between the teams.

Was more of a little dig at the Madonnina really. How can such a Derby b the biggest when half of the interisti hate Juve more than Milan??

i'd love to agree with you... but I'm not sure a whole lotta goals will be scored, i'd be surprised to see more than the 3 goals they last shared at the San Siro, we've been water tight at home this year in general...think Adri will play though...was supposed to last week before the "flu" (Possibly clubbing) meant he missed a session....Ibra - i would love to see him score in a big one, especially against his old club...

but no Cordoba who has been good so far, will be very tough against the might of Amauri and the form of Dels

No Poulsen against Inter so that likely means Tiago will start again. He has been doing much better this season so I'm glad he gets another chance. Only problem is he played in Brazil last night, and so he (as well as a few Inter players) won't be back in Italy until Friday, maybe Friday night. Not ideal preperation for a match on Saturday.

So still no Buffon, Trezeguet, Andrade, Zebina, Poulsen, and Salihamidzic. Zanetti and Marchisio should both be in the squad though I doubt they will be used unless something happens. Manninger still trying to recover from a minor injury, but he should be right to play.

------------------Manninger
Gyrgera----Legrottalie---Chiellini---Molinaro
----------Sissoko-------Tiago
Marchionni-----------------------------Nedved
-------------Del Piero----Amauri

Marchionni has been good lately so I see no reason to start Camoranesi over him. But Camo would be a good option to bring off the bench.

Cruz has a knack of scoring against us, but lately he has not really been playing, and so I hope Jose is unaware of this and continues to not start him :P.

Juventus have presented the plans for their new stadium, which should be ready for the 2011-12 season.
The Old Lady are currently sharing the Stadio Olimpico with neighbours Torino, but the small capacity means that many fans can't get tickets to big games.
The Bianconeri presented their application for the new ground last March and the new development will be on the site of the old Stadio Delle Alpi.
The new stadium will have a capacity of 40,200 and will represent an investment of around £90m and will be named after a sponsor.
Behind the stands there will be eight restaurants, 24 bars, 459 Press seats and a ring of green space.
Patron John Elkann gave a speech at the presentation while holding a match ball from 1950.
“This took us ages to find, but it's a ball from 1950 when we won the Scudetto,” he explained.
“It's a symbol of the past of the club and a motivation for the future.
"We will put this ball somewhere in the new ground, but for now we are entrusting it to our captain Alessandro Del Piero.”
