It will be tough game for both sides, Greece will be on the back foot for most of the game, with 2 late goals by Greece will get them over the line...

My prediction 2 nil Greece...

So I assume all the greeks around the world have collectively said 'fuck you' to Setanta charging $25 a game for them to show this on their cable channel?

Does anyone still goto Rosemount?

Down 0-1 at HT, penalty scored by Frei after Dellas (?) stupidly slid in on Behrami in the box.

A few notes

- Greece playing boring, heartless football
- Setanta is an absolute joke. We missed the first 10 minutes because of technical difficulties.
- The commentator of this game is pathetic. Dellas is injured inside first 20 minutes 'Oh looks like hes got cramp'.... or how about after 35 minutes when he said 'You would have expected Greece to be up 1-0 by now as Switzerland have a few defenders out injured'.

I hope the second half makes me focus on the football as opposed to the atrocious commentating.

A great result for the Swiss away from home. This will be a tight finishing group, although having stated the obvious, there is still 6 games to go but Greece will have to win their home games. Do they play Israel at home or away, which ever it is they will have to score maximum points, if they are going to finish top of their group.

We still got to play Israel home and away.

Anyway, todays result wont hurt us soo much. Switzerland dropped 3 points to Luxembourg at home, and Israel drew in Latvia (where we have already won). We are still in good shape.

Why the hell is that psofio Papadopoulos playing!

Firstly he combines with his other touvlo gavro mate Torosidis and gives away a penalty... why the F**ck would you slide in like that when you have 2 defenders onto one and the player is not directly in on goal?? F**kn stupid like Ive always said he is. In the second goal he again displayed how dumb hi by attempting... uh well whatever they hell that was....not sure was he trying to tackle the ball with no on there? and letting the player get one on one with the keeper.

get him the hell out of this team, he is absolute rubblish!

When i saw the line up, i knew we were in trouble. Papadopoulos is a Kreas and Basinas is a has been. 1st goal for Swiss was a stupid foul to give away, and the 2nd, the commentator said that Papa slipped. My assssss he slipped, he tried to intercept and missed it completely when all he had to do was stay on his feet. Charisteas has found a purple patch, and its good to see him scoring regularly with his feet for a change, great finish by him.

The loss itself isnt that bad, we are still clear top by 2 points to the Swiss, and we will probably get a result in Berne on the return leg as we did with the Turkeys in the last Euro qualifying campaign. I think its actually good they lost, because it brings them back to earth, and when you lose at home, it makes you think twice about what you have to do to make sure you get what you want.

The other thing im confused with sometimes, is Ottos selections. Im not going to question the guy just yet because he has performed miracles with our NT, but he cant hang his hat on that forever. He must be made accountable when he goes out with that sort of a lineup. Just my thoughts, what about you Kop, and Olympiakos, what are your thoughts??? 8)

penalty reminded me of WC 1994 style defending. Ravishly sliding away when theres no need. 2nd goal was pathetic. papadopoulos should have kept feet and he would have been side by side with the striker and most likely would have amounted to nothing as players were streaming back. Choosing to go to ground and attempt to clear the ball out for throw in or corner is risky as a last defender, so there is no excuse for papa there.

I think we will beat israel in the next 2 games back to back becoz personally, i think israel are shit, always have been and are enjoying slightly better form in passed 2 years than they have ever had. Switzerland is still the danger team for greece in this group, israel are pretenders and greece have 5 months to regroup until they play. would have been nice to stay 1-1 and keep a big gap, now they have to turn it on a little more which is easily achieved.

commentator on setanta was pathetic. the way he pronounced seitaridis name was totally out of whack and you can tell he knew very little on both sides prior history.

yeh i think he is pretty stubborn with his selections, but must give him credit, he has refreshed the squad somewhat slowly bringing in newer players, although not many, papadopoulos may need a bit of time, i think he should bring ninis in slowly, lyberopoulos, basinas, dellas have to be phased out slowly, but qualification for wc10 is a must
