General question regarding player eligibility

Post by Wraith »

Just a general question that i was thinking of yesterday

If a player was registered with an FFSA club after the 30th of June, yet registers with SAASL say for instance August the 1st, would he be eligible to play for an amateur club on the basis that SAASL has no affiliation with FIFA?

I am not 100% sure but before June 30, a transfer form would still need to be completed and lodged. After this date, no transfer possible.

But you can still register a player after that date, if they are not already registered with another club. So, the question would be, if they are not under the same umbrella does say playing for Adelaide City, count as being registered to another club.

Just register as another name, they'll never know and won't punish the club if they do.

We're hoping to sign Damien Moori, Dan Goodley & Karl Veart (he might make our bench) for our catch up game on saturday.

I don't about FFSA -> SAASL

But i know FOR A FACT that you don't need a transfer form signed to go from SAASL -> FFSA and they don't require proof of cancellation of registration either.

So on those grounds I think you could probably get away with it.

If you have been registered with any other club and dont transfer prior to June 30 - then you can not register with a SAASL club after that date.

If SAASL were to accept this, it will open up a huge, HUGE can of worms.

Im pretty sure you could. At my previous club we 'legally' signed an registered a player from a state league club towards the end of the season. It was all good with the saasl anyway.

If I didnt have such a blocked nose right now I would call the SAASL up and ask them

of course they are deliberately spelt wrong  .

I have no idea if I will be playing or not, i'm available for selection but it's up to the coaches. I'll only get a run if we are short of players, what with the cross country basketball being played then, then I'm hopeful but div 3 players will take first selections.

Lucky we've got 70 registered players I guess :D .

I think you Iggie's boys are being a bit mischievous. From what I hear you boys probably won't play anyway. Haven't set a time and are playing hard ball with the opposition prez. I really don't think you'se want to be out there but are just trying to be difficult. I think we would all rather be watching the AFL final with a couple of cold ones.

What can I say? We have 70 registered players, i guarantee we can put 2 teams on the pitch at 1pm and 3pm.

A number of C's player feel we should be playing this game early, a number of other players feel we should play this game exactly when SAASL say we should.

From my personal point of view, i don't even want to watch the gay-fl and in fact can't even make an early kick off. A number of people agree with me on this one.

Well what are you boys waiting for? Are ya going to announce a time or are ya going to wait until Friday night and then let us know. In case you hadn't noticed we have a title to win and are keenly waiting on a decision to be made. Or are we witnessing a bit of gamesmanship?

How quick do you expect these things to move?

It was discussed at training last night, half were comfortable with the move, the other half didn't care about the final of a minority sport. I'm sure you'll get an answer soon, it's up to the club and coaches to decide. As far as I am concerned at this stage it's the normal kick off times and if the coach decides to accomodate your request then I'm sure you'll hear in due course.

We have agreed to change the kick off times.

D's 10:30am
C's 12:15pm

This actually means that a certain Hawkesy looks set to miss the game because of parental commitments.

For some reason I was doing a search on FN for something and this thread popped up. What a monumental post in the history of Vipers FC !
