I hope you get the jist of this - but I think you can see what Im trying to show.
Interesting the low amounts of teams in the Eliz./club area (except eliz downs)
also the decrease in teams in the older age groups - players going to federation clubs?
some of the divisions in the older age groups only have 6 teams which is low.
remember the 6,7,8 have only 8 players on the park for them teams
also I didnt realise munno para had so many teams and arent they going to federation?

It's also a case of the older age groups dropping out with Federation as well...there are more pressures on the boys time...girls, school work etc

E&D is definitely a stepping stone for the better older kids to move up to Fed.

Nothing wrong with that, providing they don't leave too early, as E&D is comparable and very strong up to around U13. Many kids/parents make the mistake of going too early because they think Fed is better and are disappointed with their standard and administration.

I also agree that the 14 year olds onwards start struggling with juggling school work, part time jobs and dare we say, the opposite sex.

Boss yes you are right the modified rules E&D runs is a great system even though it does need a little adjusting. I have kids in both camps one I placed in Fed at the age you state the other is at E&D, the biggest concern where you place your kids comes down to the coaching. I believe you have to ensure you get a good coach to further develop your child. I have seen good and bad coaches in both Fed and E&D.

yes, E&D modified rules do need adjusting hence why I am taking my son out of E&D to be a part of SSG's next year.

I know half his current team are going down the same path.

Thx for the table, I just finished my own last night, bad timing...

Interesting comments about SSG, some of the head honchos in E&D are holding out and expecting a massive backlash from the introduction of SSG into the Fed system, they think the players / parents will flock over to the E&D so they can play real games... ( i have heard this opinion expressed by more than one person)

Personally I think for the development of the children SSG is the way to go, and it is interesting that I have now heard two specific cases of parents moving to SSG clubs...

We certainly live in interesting times.

I wouldn't rush off yet to part with your $400 for 2 x 10 minute halves on a Saturday.

E&D will be making some changes to modified rules for next year.

I also believe that E&D will benefit more from the introduction of SSG than FFSA. Many fed parents and even coaches have indicated that they will not be part of SSG when it is introduced. And yes, there are probably quite a few that will go the other way too.

You obviously haven't done your homework "Boss" as the club we are going to will not be charging anywhere near $400. Try one quarter of that is closer to the mark.

SSG times for 2009 are: Under 6 will play: is 2 X 15 minute halves; Under 7/8's will play 2 X 20 minute halves; Under 9's will play 2 X 20 minute halves.

The Under 7's will actually get more game time compared to current E&D modified rules.

I have heard the same TB, I wonder if any of them have asked the kids ...

Plus i think you will find that the fees for SSG players will be less than the current setup , that is part of the whole setup.

Forgot to mention that Gala Days will be occuring on a regular basis. We will all know more after the FFSA meets with the clubs regarding the roll out of SSG's for season 2009 at the end of August.

Please check the facts before making comments.

Discussions I've been involved with have mentioned costs starting from $80, some people are even trying to get sponsors to cover the cost.

Gala days are the place to get more info, check out the FFSA site - http://www.ffsa.com.au/default.asp

JD, I have been to a couple of official SSG sessions held by FFSA and I do know what I am talking about. I hope that they keep the costs down, especially for the little ones.

At the moment, parents are paying up to $500 a season to play Under 11. Are you saying this will change under the SSG concept, which will go through to Under 12?

TB you claim you know what you are talking about! How can you? If you couldn't even get the game duration times right. Its published in the SSG pamphlet also available on the FFSA site.

So sorry, Rodney. I apologise my mistake.

Just pointing out fees have to be looked at to get bang for your bucks.

no Worries Boss :)

Cost is always an issue but the clubs taking on SSG are well aware that they must keep their costs down.

doing rough nos you would think its around the 4 mark + or -

interesting to see Gawler and MP so high - it shows the growth out north - next teams will be having to hire buses to go to certain games - only joking but who knows maybe one day?

A little surprising with a few clubs really. I thought the downs was a bit bigger and the Grove, very interesting.

Should TTG and Mod Vista, be in fed, Gawler is and once apon a time didn't Munno Para had teams in Fed?
