Baan summed it up nicely, some of our Olyroos lose the ball because of technical deficiencies and then lay bad tackles in frustrationmedallion wrote:What is with zadkovic continually committing fouls in dangerous areas. That bloke is garb.

Thought it was a poor performance by a few players tonight. Zadkovich, Jedinak and Holland all struggled for me. Knowing that there are a few non FIFA dates in the next round of qualifying I would think that a few teams would have watched with interest and not been too concerned by what they had seen.

Re: australia vs china
why? clubs still have to release there players 48 hours before hand (ie china away), granted it's not ideal but it's not like these players are going to make up first 11Pozza wrote:Thought it was a poor performance by a few players tonight. Worst the Aussies have played in a long while. Apart from Kewell, I could hardly see anyone who would make a first choice 11 for future games.

worst i've seen a Socceroos team play ever, and i've been watching them since '85.
couldnt string 2 passes together the whole match. absolute rubbish.

I feel sorry for the 70,000 supporters who actually paid good money to go watch that game. If Pim was going to play all youngsters, they should've dropped the prices for the clash as it was basically our Olyroo side and not our First team. Also, if that is our Olyroo side for the Olympics, I guess it's fair to say that we won't be expecting any podium finishes.OnionBag wrote:worst i've seen a Socceroos team play ever, and i've been watching them since '85.

It was all a learning curve for the young socceroos. They will benefit from this game, they will learn, how crucial mistakes will get punished heavily at this level. Harry Kewell played well, good to see he got a full 90 minutes out of this game.

the score was flattering to the 'roos.

Re: australia vs china
Bought tickets early and went to this one, given all the qualifiers coming up Pim was 100% correct to give the "real" players a break and the FFA culdn't do anything with the tickets as they sold 50,000 before the Qatar game - I don't agree with many of the choices though - either make it the Olympic Team or don't but we have better players than that surely!
