Seems certain coaches have gone very quiet with recent results.....hmmmm
Come on, if your gonna be a smart ass when when you win, you have to be humble enough to post your scores when you lose too.

So as you all talk the rubbish that you are our under 13's played western strikers yesterday. During the card check we found that western strikers only had 8 cards with them. So in the spirit that is taught to all at the cobras a simple are all your players registered question was posed to which the reply was yes. Instead of being arrogant and bullish the cobras felt that was fine and instead of punishing the players for other peoples lapses wew decided to play in the spirit of it all. Ofcourse no one makes mistakes at your clubs to they. By the way how many junior championships did modbury and enfield win last year??interpool wrote:reading through this crap seems modbury and enfield have valid points, shall we allow every club to turn up with players without cards, soon we'll see players u19s ressies playing (no cards) who will know, stick to the game rules. good to see GOWANS finally making some sense!!!!!Goubebia wrote:Oh please tell them the full story. We could hava quite easily have taken the 3-0 result but no we love the game to much to let it be spoilt by knobs. We gave them the game and the oppurtunity to extend their lead at the top of the table but instead of showing gatitude after the match they wanted to complain about the player who didnt have his card. Well if he's not registered i'm sure the ffsa will punish the cobras.Green_Manalishi wrote:Just got back from the Cobras vs Enfield U14B game and guess what one of their players turned up without a card. I'll let someone from Cobras explain the trade off that saw him play.

(My point was though that after what happened on Friday night, how is possible that Cobras could again turn up with a player and no card?)
This question above is easy to answer.
It would have to apart of the COBRAS Club culture to have kids floating from team to team in the hope of a WIN.
If a player has no card then their name is not allowed on the team sheet, is this correct? Then what coach would think that they could have the card arrive at half time and that player join the game, are you allowed to add names onto the team sheet at half time!
And my understanding is that 2 players were without cards.......surprise surprise.
Yes Cobras are going to let other clubs play without cards because it helps their cause. By doing this it makes their guilt subside for 1 game!
Cobras if your Volunteers are unable to do their jobs properly by collecting cards then dont blame other clubs for doing the right thing.

In my opinion, i think that people now need to accept that card checks have become a part of the game. Over the years I have listened to a lot of people from many different clubs, who say they are sick of certain clubs, who in the past, have brought players down to play in a game which they should not be participating in because they are too old.
Now we have the perfect tool to try and stop this. " A CARD CHECK " To me it's quite simple for a team before the game to line up with their card in hand while the opposition manager or coach checks their card to make sure all is well.
More and More clubs are making it policy to do a card check before every game, so I think we all need to just accept that it is within the rules to do so and there is no point in one of the coaches jumping up and down shouting, "are you accusing us of cheating" because when he's finished making a fool of himself he still has to go ahead with the card check.

Funny thing is, when I played in the early 80's we always had to line up with our cards before the game and show them. I don't remember ever seeing an issue about doing it.Black and White wrote:In my opinion, i think that people now need to accept that card checks have become a part of the game...........
What happened to change this? Or was it just a Adelaide City initiative?

The question is not always about if the player is registered it is about if he is the correct age to play in the age group in question,if every coach/manager had there cards THERE WILL BE NO ISSUES as every player is issued there card before the season starts so there should be no REASON FOR MISSING CARDS.if they played for a different age group at a different time/place and you can not get the card back in time BAD LUCK dont lend the player to another team and then complain when he cant play where he is suppose to.
As for championships maybe that is why more and more clubs are enforcing the card checks to stamp out the flaunting of the rules.

UPDATED CARD CHECK MEMO & RULE
Due to concerns from clubs regarding player cards over the past month, the FFSA will have a new procedure for all Junior Premier League Under 12 to Under 17 matches as of today. Please ensure that all coaches and team managers receive this email.
Each team must present ALL registration cards to the appointed match referee 15 minutes prior to the commencement of a match. As per the Competition Rule 26 (b), any player who can not produce their (appropriate as per Memo attached) player card prior to the commencement of the match is not permitted to play. If the match commences and a player then presents their card, the player can not play.
Any club who can not produce their player cards to the match referee prior to the commencement of the match will forfeit the match.
If a card check is requested by either card, then the process should only be conducted prior to the commencement of a match, where the team managers line up their players for the opposition team manager to check the card and match the player. This process should only take a couple of minutes to conduct.
The player cards will be kept with the match official for the entire match and will be handed back to each team manager at the conclusion of the match. The Player cards are to be presented in either a card folder or with a rubber band to the match referee.
If there are any concerns, please complete an incident report via the attached form at the completion of the match.
Level 2 fines of $250.00 will apply for 26 (a) and (b).
Please find attached Memo on Player Registration Cards.
Competition Rule:
26 JPL Player Registrations Cards & Player Checks
a) Clubs not producing the JPL player registration cards prior to a scheduled match will forfeit the match,as determined by the competition administrator.
b) Any player who cannot produce their JPL registration card prior to commencement of the scheduled match is not permitted t o play. It shall be the responsibility of the club officials to ensure all players participating in any JPL match shall have all player registration cards prior to kick off.Level 2 fines shall apply.

Re: Results 11/5
To be honest, if the visiting Coach (or the one that's short of a card), came up and advised early his predicament - and had a plausible excuse (e.g. last minute injury/sickness and had to grab a 'B' player who was about to play the other side of town and hence that's where his card is), I would be happy to let it go.
But I'd like to think that we would always have our cards ready and not put an opposition Coach/Club in that senario.

Didnt help comets that 3 defenders were subbed off with injury and played a makeshift defence for the rest of the game, although good game by both sides.

para hills 17's are a very strong team, they do show lapses from time to time to alllow the quick break, but all in all will do well this year.
