No need to explain, he's a mythical figure, in fact the church refuses to acknowledge any such person ever existing.

cheers but don't like the sound of A5 sounds like a dodgy tolled highway, I only know the A1

Go back further and Italian sides owned Europe before England even got a look-in. It was only the strict no foreigner policy introduced to help path the way to World Cup success that gave you a chance to bridge the gap. Don't you love history here's another one for ya if it wasn't for the sceptic tanks, Aussies & Ruskis you'd be speaking German.

Still don't understand how they let the English back in Europe without building cages first.

If it wasn't for the English channel we'd be speaking german, I'll accept that as well as help from the russians and the yanks. I laugh in the face of it the aussies. They did well and certainly helped but if you think they made any significant involvement more than any other commonwealth country then you are mistaken! If it wasn't for the English and the yanks you'd be speaking Japanese.

Cages? Why would that be necessary. Not our fault that like all italians before them faced with an enemy, they turned and ran. Cowards!!

Now there's irony for you. The church refusing to acknowledge a mythical figure. Oh the irony.

Oh and John Paul II placed him back on the church calenders a few years back, but never took away his saint status anyway. The one true church has always had him as a 1st class saint.

So not only is your post funny, but it's factually incorrect as well.

Sorry but the irony is lost on me, considering we've already gone the politics road might as well throw in the religion detour.
I suppose you believe in dragons too.

Now if JP2 wanted to appease to the masses and give in on the matter that's his call after all who am I to challenge infallibility.

Anyway what would an English man or woman know about the one true church......unless it's princess Margaret (rest her soul hope she fulfilled her spiritual need before her death)

Nice to see you defending George though, just another icon you stole from the Romans & Greeks

You must be american then if irony is lost on you.

Of course I believe in dragons, otherwise what did Saint George kill. :?

An Englishman would know everything about the true church, it was formed by an Englishman and the head of it is in England and is called the church of England. What more proof do you need?

Depends on which story you want to believe but yes in one of them we stole him from the Romans. That was after they killed him for believing in god. Just like you lot killed jesus and fed a lot of people who believed in him to the Lions at the colloseum

You mean the CoE that was set up by an Englishmen who was baptised Catholic and defended the faith during the reformation, who started his own religion so he could rob the church and finance a war against the spaniards and shack up with another shiela........yeah I'd sell my soul to that! CoE took what belonged to God and gave it to Cesar

Jesus forgave the Romans and in return the Roman's spread his word throughout the world, it's never too late Haweksy you still have time :P

Oh can you tell me when St George was allegedly born and when he allegedly died? Then tell me how that ties to Ingerland

btw that's low calling someone an American!

ON the defender of the faith - yes he was baptised as a catholic but he saw the corruption in the church and paved the way for the modern church. OH and he got to divorce some spanish doris as well. He did not leave the church to finance his war with spain, however, it was a direct result of his divorce as Carlos I (aka Charles V - Holy Roman Emperor) was the uncle of Catherine of Aragon (the divorced wife of Henry VIII).

Saint George died on April 23rd 303 and his link to England, is the church he built in Constantine (modern day turkey) was rebuilt during the crusades by England's army. It therefore became a symbol of what the Crusades were trying to achieve.

Finally, me still having time. The god I believe in is not going to turn me away because I am CofE and not a catholic. He'll turn me away for being a cunt but not for being CofE. I've even had a catholic priest agreeing with me on this one that he could not believe in a god that could turn someone away just for being CofE.

on and remembered something: i apologise for calling you american, that's too low :D but you started it by not getting irony. :D

He didn't have a problem with corruption in the church during the reformation when Luther rightly highlighted it but never intended for a breakaway. I'd say your argument with Carlos is a chicken and the egg debate.

Of course he didn't get involved in some german bloke nailing his comments to a church door, It was all about his divorce and his marriage to Anne Boleyn. Hence the comment in bold. But we had an alliance with spain due to the marriage between Catherine of Aragon first to his eldest son Arthur Tudor and then on his death to his next heir Henry Tudor. It was only once Henry Tudor (now Henry VIII) was involved in the reformation and divorce of Catherine that the "friendship" was negated. Their was no chicken and egg on that one.

i would like to share something I found in an ENGLISH football magazine, yes ENGLISH...

as of the start of the 2007/2008 campaigns UEFA OFFICIALLY had their rankings for the top leagues in Europe...

Serie A topped the list.... La Liga was second, France's Ligue1 3rd followed by the EPL in 4th...

when you watch the technical brilliance of serieA it really is hard to top it, and I'm sure Capello would agree with me having watched so much EPL in the last few months

I think that either you or that magazine are wrong then.

The reason I say that is because the UEFA league ranking decides how many teams a league gets to enter into the champions league. England entered 4 and france only 3, so by default the league ranking must have been higher for England than france.

Incidentally, next years has 1 spain, 2 England, 3 italy, 4 france
