Young Sensations ??????

Post by What the? »

How bad is it when you take your daughter out to a Young Sensation training and no coaches or trainer rocks up?????????

I thought this was meant to be an A grade training for up and coming stars...

What a laugh...

Well done to the girl who actually took it on her self to get the girls to do some training.

SAWSA really should look into this as Im sure some parents arent too happy about this.

Well done to Quiggs for taking the warm up, and (as a parent) thanks to Kevin for taking over the training immediately when he returned and realised no coaches had arrived.
I and a few other parents were a bit 'taken aback' when we realised what had happened though! If Kevin hadn't returned when he did I was starting to wonder if I would have to take the session myself....

Im really sure there would be an explaination for no coaches to rock up.
All the coaches in the program are great and Im sure it was just a mix up on their behalf.

Sawsa would have no control over this what so ever and Im sure this is the first time that this has happened. So take it easy What the?

Agreed Mrs Trainer. It's a good thing Racheal, being one of the more experienced players, took the initiative to take the training. Well done to her.
Let's just hope this mix up doesn't happen again.

Indeed he is. But were you also implying the girls are not learning anything from the current coaching staff?

Unbelieveable.

Maybe this is why we have poor representation in the National Teams. Its not because of a lack of good players. We have them.

What difference does it make what club the girls are at????
If they are good enough for SASI they should be in there no matter where they play. This is why our premier divsion will never get stronger because all the really good players go to the main clubs and leave PH, C and WT with the not so good players. ( No disrespect to those clubs or players)

How can we improve womens football if we cant get it right and have a decent comp from all teams every week.

yeh well this is where promoting ur team once they are in the premier league is vital. No use coming into prems if ur gonna settle for being cellar dwellers and think that's acceptable. In Fulham's first year in prems our target was to play exciting football and play our football with a good attitude. Our first goal was to survive the relegation zone and then ull attract sasi players who want to move to a new fresh club. Fulham finished 7th in 2000 and have since improved every year. We have now won 4 league titles in a row and now who's larfing.

SASI players will come but promotion is the key

This arguement is an old one which happens in all sports. A caoch has links or preferences to some clubs and not to others, but as Gubs says it is up to the club to sell themseves to try and keep the top class players. What the clubs don't need and or require is top coaches telling players to leave this clu or that club to go to a 'bigger club'.

Coaches should coach, the only time they should say anything about a player leaving is if the player themselves approach the coach with concerns about their current team and or if after a couple of years the players are not learning or going backwards then and only then the SASI coaches should at least meet with the club and put forward some help otherwise then and only then should the player be reccomended to leave.

Too many times coaches at high leaves can and do dictate where top players go. Sush a ashame.

The tough thing about trying to sell your club is the negative perception that people give a club from the start.

Talking to people and you say your from whatever club and people go 'arent they crap' as their first comment, how exactly are you meant to counter that?

By proving one person wrong? and then there friends just influence them again anyway by telling stories which arent true or spreading rumours.

Every club tries to sell the good points of their club and what they are building towards, and the ones who have finished near the bottom try damn hard.

For example Mattie jokes about the clubs which will finish bottom, i can gaurantee if a player read that who was lookin for a new club, it would give them a second thought about going out there.

I agree with you and that is why I say that SASI and or top coaches at 'development groups etc' should not be playing god and telling players where to go. This is and can be very wrong. A player should have the ability to go to and play for whoever they want. I could say that ther would be a difference lpaying prems /div 1 to maybe playing in div 2 or below and before you say it I know that all of the good players are probable already playing top grade clubs, but you could be an up and coming from a lower grade who a coach sees something in.

In all sports all SASI / development coaches / state coaches all want their players playing in the highest grades but they should no be allowed to dictate any club that you hould or should not be able to play for.

Again all my opinion and my opinion only.
