I hear it could have been 237 without him and besides, he was never out of the game.Aldo Serena wrote:Seriously, the Div 4 list is an absolute joke. Greenock finish 6th and have two players in the top six and CC Tigers conceded 137 goals and their keeper is in their too! Disappointing we did not have one player after finishing second and losing two games, as well as Northern Utd and Polonia (3rd and 4th) missing out.

Thats the way it goes mate, unfortunately when you have a good balanced side, players perform well week in week out and take points off each other, unless someone was an absolute stand out in your team? As for the Gullies I expected a few more but Derek was a stand out for us this year !Aldo Serena wrote:Seriously, the Div 4 list is an absolute joke. Point taken, but does a keeper deserve points in a 10-0 drubbing if he saved 5 or 6 goals? I dont believe so... but obviously the referees disagree! GullyBoyz, it will be interesting to see how the votes are spread across our team when the year book comes out, but would have thought a couple of players might have gone close.

Does a forward who scores 5 goals deserve referees points if he misses 15 other chances, I don't believe so...but they always will!Aldo Serena wrote:Point taken, but does a keeper deserve points in a 10-0 drubbing if he saved 5 or 6 goals? My first coach always said "the keeper is the first line of attack and the last line of defence and the ball has to get passed 10 other players before it reaches him"

Understand where you coming from and yes will be interesting to see the year book! Refs have made some weird decisions this year so it may not come as a surprise! maybe he was the only player that didnt abuse him!Aldo Serena wrote:Point taken, but does a keeper deserve points in a 10-0 drubbing if he saved 5 or 6 goals? Like I say it doesn't add up, the final SAASL league table for Division 10 says B.Lodge have 55 goals for, of which players other than Russell scored 32 goals, that only leaves a maximum of 23 goals that Russell could have scored. 55-32= 23web wrote:Russell Scored a hat trick in the last game against Modbury Jets

Regarding Div4
central city won 2 games, thats 2 game they should have only got votes in.
Votes always go to the winning team players
and occasionally if its a close game, a loosing team player might grap 1 point.
so if you loose 10 nil, no player in the loosing team deserves any points in a disgraceful effort.
adding up all of central citys player points shouldn't haven't even been in the top 6.
Also i think one of those games won was a forfeit.

Thats right swanahue is on 26 and he has already built the mahogony cabinet to put the spoils in. The league will love that having to double up.finderskeeper wrote:I hear Swanny got 2 in the last game against FOBweb wrote:We won 5-2.

tut tut . unheard of.
That gives him 26 also

There is no I in team, but there is a u in suck...
Maybe that's why there's a Mark Russell playing for Modbury Vista with 3 goals to his name.web wrote:We won 5-2.

In all fairness the League should force FOB to play their last fixture which they forfeited to the Downs.
legga - I think finderskeeper was mucking around about the 2 goals in the last game!
They should have a re-count with scrutineers

If you think the Fields should be forced to play this game as it may have an impact on the leading goal scorer, then there are a number of games which would have to be played.swannsong wrote:Maybe that's why there's a Mark Russell playing for Modbury Vista with 3 goals to his name.web wrote:We won 5-2.

If the easy beats Greenock hadn't of forfeited twice against the Grove and Modbury old boys hadn't changed kick off time against the Grove without notifying anyone, Justin Foster would have won leading goal scorer in div 10 easily.
I'm very happy to have moved to West Ham, because I can play for a better team than Sheffield Wednesday.
