Milligan

Post by cheesecake shop 2 »

This guy is a star and Australia's best player last night and if he gets dropped for the superstars to come back, that will be a joke. He would have to be in the top 3 players in the A League, can play as a defender or defensive midfielder and he is still only young. Plenty of potential would have to be his last year in the A-League.

don't think he's that good in the a-league, but didn't put a foot wrong last night, MOTM by a long way, it was a farce giving it to viduka

Simon Hill and I agree!

How can you give it to the striker for doing what he's supposed to do... when the defence stands firm all night (doing it's job also - and in my opinion much better).

am i the only one who though bresh was farken ordinary? far far too often he was too slow to give the ball, or he lost the ball because of a rotten first touch.

hey ._. hows things fella? I thought bresh was fricken class in the first half, he was running a mock, he seemed to be everywhere. Died out of the game in the second half, but im not surprised, especially as he was stuck covering alot of Grella's fk ups!

Milligan def MOM though, great game. Hopefuly it just wasnt a once off performance. I still dont get Viduka. I thought Aloisi (who also had a bad game) played his role better than Viduka himself. How is someone who is always talked up as being great in holding the ball up, not staring against players half his size?

im with xabi, Bresciano has been so ordinary lately it isn't even funny - first touch of a brick wall. a few times he showed what he can do, but he has been well down on what a player of his calibre is capable of, kept giving the ball away too cheaply.

howdy chief, long time ey? haven't seen you on here either, what's the go?

i don't know, i honestly can't remember bresh doing anything of note throughout the whole game, but i've been known to only remember bits n pieces of games (n i wasn't even pished). no kidding about grella, he was absent for most of the game, culina was doing the work of two men in the middle while grella just trotted about the park.

i can't believe how slow we are on the ball, how often was there a chance to get it wide to carney or wilkshire who had acres in front of them, but by the time we got it out to them, they were just about closed down! after watching alonso spray the ball on command with first and second touches vs crewe to absolute perfection, it made for tough viewing seeing grella and bresh on the footie!

Sure has been a long time mate. My ventures out in the real world are at a premium these days, addition to the family on the way has put an end to all fun! and thanks to work net checks I dont get on here too much ethier, not to mention there is waaaay too many absolute twats who frequent this place, my own mates fill up enough of that quota!

Seems many people have different views on how people played. I just recall Bresh running at players a few times in the first half, he semed to get himself alot of space. something noone else was able to manage in the first 2 games. We seem slow on the ball because our first intention always seems to be to look down the middle to Viduka.

I hear you had some good times O/S eh! nice 1. Pity about missing out on ya tix, but i bet in comparison to the whole trip you have forgotten about that already. Let me guess, plans already underway to head back? Cant beat a bit of saw dust, plastic bag tied to the belt buckle and 3 warm cans of bear for a good time

last night we saw a lot more of what Bresc is capable of, how can you say his first touch was ordinary, on numorous occasions his first touch killed the man on him and got him away... pay closer attention if you think his first touch wasnt there..... in the first half he was brilliant.... finally playing behind the strikers and we looked so well structured.... bresciano with every opportunity was creating space and pushing the ball out to the wings, and whenever he didnt its coz the opposition couldnt handle him and fouled him. In the second half we were under the pump and Bresciano was covering at times deep in our defensive half and that is no blemish on his game... just at that period of the match Australia were up against it, still we had all the signs that w could be deadly on the counter as the asians have done so well against us.... we are a different team with bresciano behind the front two.

If Milligan hadnt put in top performances in the A league he wouldnt be there , played awesome in the asian cup aswell . He is easily in the top 3 a league defenders & shhiits on kisnorbo , so he definately deserves that starting spot

Am i imagining things? Is it just me that thinks Vince Grella has been useless in the past two games?

His first touch has been abysmal, he has been slow on the ball and time and time again has been caught out and lost the ball which many times has seen us caught on a counter attack because of it.

It has to be mentioned that he also has to take some of the blame here for Australia's poor performances so far.

I still havent made up my mind about him. I personally think he's overrated.

Xabi I agree totally. I thought he was very average last night. His first touch wasn't great and there were numerous times where he didn't mark a player coming through or track any runs. I know he is an exceptional player...but I haven't really seen it yet this tournament.

must say ive been ultra impressed with him and to a lesser extent carney...if beauchamp and heffernan can move abroad then surely these two can but the a-league has to do their best to retain players or the league will suffer
