Metro

Good selections. Yes I agree with you re: Fulham and Hellas. Don't think a draw will be the final result.

She's not the only player in the side.

Cumby 1-3 Uni
Cumby probably desperate for a win so if Uni underestimate Cumby could take the points

Ctown 0-10 City
be no mercy from PP

Fulham 1-3 WAH
West too strong, Kevs old school long balls won't do so well against the Fulham GK but WA still do enough to win.

Inter 1-3 Metro
tipped Metro again, surely this time they will turn the corner

Sorry if you took it that way - wasn't attacking your opinion, just stating that Uni were strong enough to beat Metro last week without Rojas. have I attacked your opinion elsewhere? I tend to generally agree with your opinion!

No sweat...was only meant as harmless by-play. I agree with your observation re: absence of Rojas. They had multiple goal scorers and are not one dimensional.

The tip below Hellas over Fulham 5-0 is interesting. Says that Fulham defence weak. Attack weak and cannot score and Hellas strong in defence and attack. A look through each line up will probably paint a different picture. Although I picked Hellas, I think Fulham can score goals.

Last week WA game looked like a training session.
Watching the Fulham v Cumberland game the black and whites were opened a few times at the back - had Cumberland put away half their chances would have taken the points. Was a good game to watch.

Fair call General. Hopefully Hellas don't come out with the same mindset against Fulham. Otherwise.....Somehow I think Kev will keep them on task and ready to steam roll

Seems like 5-0 was the order of the day!

Cumby 5-0 Uni
Westies 5-0 Fulham
Metro 5-0 Inter
City 10-0 Ctown

Starting to wonder if anyone is going to beat Westies this year?!

Only saw the second half- all 3 goals were scored before the break. Was pretty even in the second half. Fulham threatened to grab a couple back. Sarah Willacy was very good. Weston's also had several chances in second half. Good game to watch.

Well done to Adelaide City after their emphatic victory over Campbelltown on Friday. All the girls did well, but Tiarn Powell was particularly good. I am concerned, however, with scores like 10-0 (Twice!) and 7-0 in what is meant to be the flagship local competition. It isn't a good look for the competition and certainly not good for the development of the local girls. I must say that I am starting to be concerned at the standard of play in the NPL in general. I may be premature/wrong with my judgement, but even the top sides haven't overly impressed me with the standard of play. I am not sure if, as other forum contributors have pointed out, that the standard has dropped. It does concern me,however, as we need a strong local competition to develop our future W-League players. This is especially so as Adelaide United seem to have had a change in direction and want to field as many "locals" as possible instead of signing many interstate players as in the past. There is a great collection of talented/ highly credentialled coaches this season (Including an ex-Matildas coach!) so I hope that they can help to lift playing standards.

UWS...I agree with your comments about the flagship comp and the big blow out results from C'town. I can see no clear road ahead for them and as someone said the other day to me...."they (*C’town) haven't learned much since their last foray into Prems" I agree (sadly). I hope they improve.

The other moot point is regards to the top teams and what we’re seeing by way of standard. Results over the last 4 indicates to me that City have hit the ground running and playing a style that validates the ability of the team. However, let’s keep in perspective for City and PP’s claim to fame.

1) Postponed Fulham – Game to be played soon I hope
2) Win vs Uni (whom we agree are struggling). City conceded 4 goals.
3) Win vs Salisbury (new team)
4) Win vs Campbelltown (new team).

This week is vs West Adelaide, then Cumberland and at some stage soon ???? the catch up game with Fulham.

Once those games occur then we can sit in judgement of PP’s brilliance and that of the team. Metro too are yet to hit the straps and Fulham not too far behind. Cumby for mine is a team with the goods.

Oops...even more credence to my point that City have yet to be challenged.

Catch up game next week....excellent. Burton? what's wrong with the shores or the parks?
