This forum is for the discussion of women's football, the fastest growing participation sport in Australia. This includes local women's football and the A-League Women.
For those not able to make it to the game on Sun.(like myself) they can still view below;

A win or draw against Sydney would continue the very good unbeaten form shown thus far in 2017 and help close out the season in style.
Good luck to the Lady Reds. It would be great to finish off with three wins in a row and spoil Sydney FC's Premiership aspirations. It will not be easy, especially in the oppressive heat, but the girls are capable of doing it.
Great win. Finished the season on a high.
Excellent work by the lady reds and especially A Jones for the player of the match.
Exceptional work from the americans.
Hoping that things work out better next year with the whole process. Well done to Huss for changing the team around .
Yep sportsbird....only four losses for the season. Thats the same number of losses as third and fourth placed teams. Five draws......omg if they had converted one or even two of those draws into a win they'd more than likely have made the finals. But no nope you have to put in the snide comment on huss 'changing the team around'.....those draws werent just near the end of the season....they were from game one! The whole team did a good job and barring a raft of injuries and the occasional weird ref decision the team were competitive. So the group you bagged as a whole did win more than one game that you had predicted and if you were to jam the crystal ball and look at the team with open eyes then youd see a competitive group with 3 wins 5 draws and 4 losses......not too bad when you consider how much you were giving them no chance and bagging them.
The United keeper did pull off a couple of saves late in the match. But some of the goals i thought the keepers positioning was terrible.
Its disgusting making people, male or female, play that time of the day, with that temperature. Wont take long for a player to collapse of a heart attack.
Congratulations Adelaide United women in finishing the season off in such emphatic fashion (in fact the 5 - 2 score line flattered Sydney).
Well done to all the squad & coaching staff for giving us some real excitement this season particularly since X-Mas, something the men’s team have failed miserably to provide us supporters.
I too can’t but help think if only ‘the stars & planets had aligned’ just a little sooner we would have definitely been in the mix to possibly go all the way had we managed to just make the playoffs.
Special mention for our leading goal scorer Adriana Jones with nine goals (also a club record) & I really do hope she stays on next season.
Congratulations to the Lady Reds and their Coaching team. What a fantastic late run to finish the season with. It is great that the club has changed direction and gone for the best of the local talent instead of signing many "interstate" players as was done in the past.I believe that a United win against Sydney FC has only ever happened once in W-League history. However, to belt them 5-2 in a game in which they had to win to get that Premiership, is truly commendable. To only lose four games and score the second highest number of goals in the league highlights how good that they have been.I hope that these girls can be kept together for the 2017-2018 W-League season and that any future local recruits are picked earlier and on their ability and performances in the WNPL They should not have to attend "trials." The NPL season should be the "trial." Thank you Lady Reds for producing such great entertainment this season.

What a bitter,stubborn and arrogant person you are Sportsbird. The fact is that Huss eventually settled on his strongest eleven/substitutes after a limited preseason, injury/unavailability affected the early stage of the season. As most of us said, the team needed time to gel and it was clearly NOT what you were implying. You were implying that Huss weeded out the players that you thought were not good enough and that "should not have been selected." It was actually the opposite. It wasn't changes to the team but arriving at a settled lineup. This settled lineup DID contain players that you considered as not being up to scratch and that they should not have been selected. Your negative predictions/"doom and gloom" such as the team winning one game and being the worst United team ever (You called that "reality") were completely WRONG and totally unfounded. Even when the team started to achieve good results, you said that Huss will cut the majority of the squad. EGG ON YOUR FACE SPORTSBIRD!
