Re: Euro qualifiers
I understand where you are coming from short term there may be better candidates, but in reality who ?. Roy will be 70 next world cup, I see him more like Moses leading us to it but never actually reaching the promised land himself. There are indications that finally a system is being put in place regarding continuity and England's long term development with Roy helping it’s progress. I do rate Gary Neville he does have potential but he needs time. It is a sad and depressing fact there are no other English coaches currently capable of doing the job, maybe Roy is just year zero. The Kop wrote:You're a Hodge fanboy, really? I see the Albanian's are at it again, I thought it was just the SAASL!
Strong draw for Scotland, keeps the group tight

A bloke who threatened to strike before an important England match.N5 1BH wrote:I do rate Gary Neville he does have potential but he needs time. It is a sad and depressing fact there are no other English coaches currently capable of doing the job, maybe Roy is just year zero.
I'd rather lose to Qatar than see him in charge.
Hodgson is clearly the best England manager in the last 18 years.
Re: Euro qualifiers
Ranieri won't have a chance to go crazy bcoz he'll be found floating somewhere in the Aegean in the next week or so I'd suggest. The guy couldn't coach a root in a brothel if his life depended on it. I called it from the moment he was appointed and he hasn't let me down. Put your money on Faroe Islands or Draw for the next game if he's still alive & in chargeJuventino wrote:When will Ranieri go crazy in Malesani/Gattuso style?

I don't think it would be very easy to 'coach a root in a MacDonalds', - perhaps he couldn't 'get a root in a brothel" or a 'beer in a brewery'?

Re: Euro qualifiers
England looking very unconvincing so far. Llana Henderson look very much like passengers. The challenges that llana pulls out if are shockingly unprofessional. Rooney lifting his game finally on his. 100th cap. Welbeck causing problems and finding the net is a good sign. Sterling also starting to string hazardous minutes together on the park rather than 10mins here and there.

Agree! Not the most convincing performance but a good 3 points in the end.Chaos wrote:England looking very unconvincing so far. Llana Henderson look very much like passengers. Danny is in great scoring form for England mate, he has to start producing more like this @ the Emirates

SAASL CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS WINNER 2010

100% record - that'll do for me.
Re: Euro qualifiers
Geez, not sure what was wrong with the Croatian fans - could easily have cost their team the points if the game didn't get going again. They were the better side against Italy and I doubt the result will be changed now, but if it were suspended permanently then I'm sure it would have.

Normal behaviour by our crowd, thumbing their nose at the corrupt establishments of the Croat Football Federation (HNS), UEFA & FIFA.Juventino wrote:Geez, not sure what was wrong with the Croatian fans - could easily have cost their team the points if the game didn't get going again. Security obviously did their job well at the San Siro.

We're not very good...but Italy's performance was terrible.
Re: Euro qualifiers
Italy were missing 11 or 12 players, but it was poor. Couldn't get a hold of the ball at all.

Well in Polska, and "Lewie" for his brace, including what could be a vital last gasp equaliser. Just need to draw at home to the Irish to get through, no easy task mind you.

Albania will qualify if they beat bottom side Armenia tonight. With Iceland, Wales and Northern Ireland already there looks like being an unusual tournament.

Wales, N Ireland and England made it. Southern Ireland looking likely as well.
Only Scotland letting down the countries in the British Isles.
