Most teams that fluctuate between the leagues are non-cbd teams and are predominantly located north and south. This will normally always be the case for a number of reasons:

Clubs out north and south are less 'wealthy' and their wage constraints mean good players are targeted by PL sides:
Its hard to convince a player to travel 45-60 minutes to training when you can't offer a substantial increase on wages:
Majority of the youth players out north and south that break into senior teams aged 16-18 normally move on to PL clubs to increase their chances of AU selection:
Finally, Squad depth. Clubs with established reputations like Metro etc are more likely to have players who're willing to be patient and sit on the bench until they get a chance. This means most first teams have 15-20 first team players available for selection. Most clubs dont have this luxury.

Good points, so lots of young players there but they get picked by $$'s given by near city clubs?

The money is certainly better, but so is the competition. They've had 2 seasons playing SL, they've developed and established themselves as senior footballers. A 'bigger' club comes knocking, the chance to play at a higher level etc - it's only natural for players to want to take the step.

Take Cumberland as an example, won promotion from the SL, had an excellent 2013 season with basically the same squad, and then their standout players moved on to more reputable clubs. By the end of the 2014 season they were relegated - and now have to start from scratch. its football.

Look at WAMK17 (or whatever we are up to), their cap and personnel they bought to win through SL. With $60K cap, and non italian.
Makes you envious of the accounting acumen.

Ok, some of "your clubs" haven't even been around for the last two decades (FFSA), so what category of poor sods do we put them into?

ITS ALL TO DO WITH FUNDS AND COACHES.
MONEY GIVES YOU THE CHANCE FOR BETTER PLAYERS ( BUT NOT ALWAYS - PLAYERS DO NOT ALWAYS PERFORM) AND GOOD COACHES GETS THE MOST OUT THE SQUAD YOU HAVE. A FAILURE IS A BIG CLUB WITH MONEY AND GOOD PLAYERS AND DOES POORLY BECAUSE THE COACH IS OVER RATED. PLENTY OF EXAMPLES IN BOTH AREAS.

No obsession just trying to keep the SA soccer public better informed in the way the game is funded then charged to parents.

No, you're being a nosey shite.

If the parents, or you, are that concerned then become a member of a club and attend an agm.

Me? I don't need to, I have been there done that for years. I know the costs and hard work involved to run a club with mostly volunteers.
