International friendly farce
Manchester united players feigning injuries left right and centre, couple from Liverpool and arsenal....and they aren't the only clubs who's stars have injuries all of a sudden, just the lion share.
Surely all these stars and their injuries can't just happen at this time by coincidence...? If they are tired or don't want to play, the country cannot force them so why make this up?
And yes, I do understand the whole clubs pay their wage gear. But it's ridiculous how many have pulled out this time around.

Is this a serious question?Chaos wrote:If they are tired or don't want to play, the country cannot force them so why make this up?
Just politely decline to play friendlies and meet up with the team in Brasil you reckon?

FIFA should take a stand on this. Unavailable through injury for your country then you clearly need a fortnights rest.

Not for meaningless friendlies for these 'tired' millionaires.God is an Englishman wrote:FIFA should take a stand on this. Unavailable through injury for your country then you clearly need a fortnights rest.
However like Kewell in the old days, can be suspended for next club game if making oneself unavailable for a competitive qualifier..

The English Football team are obviously not very patriotic about their country.
Too busy trying to shag grannies and teammates girlfriends.

Didn't the captain of the british national team shag his brothers wife as well?God is an Englishman wrote:Black_Panther wrote:The English Football team are obviously not very patriotic about their country.

Re: International friendly farce
If you are trying to wind someone up then at least have a credible baiting statement. Your comments - to which I assume are referring to John Terry - just makes you look stupid and ignorant but I will enjoy GIAE letting you know.
Re: International friendly farce
Looking at the proposed England squad for the two friendlies they seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel.
I don't recognise too many of the new names - does anyone else?
England squad
Goalkeepers: Fraser Forster, Joe Hart, John Ruddy.
Defenders: Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Ashley Cole, Kieran Gibbs, Phil Jagielka, Glen Johnson, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Kyle Walker (out of Chile match).
Midfielders: Ross Barkley, Michael Carrick (out of both Chile and Germany matches), Tom Cleverley, Steven Gerrard (out of Chile match), Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Andros Townsend, Jack Wilshere (recovering from ankle injury).
Forwards: Jermain Defoe, Rickie Lambert (misses Chile game), Jay Rodriguez, Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge (foot injury, misses Chile match), Danny Welbeck (out of both Chile and Germany matches).
I can't see them troubling the Germans too much with this squad.

Which of the above fit that category?
I'll give you an update when I get home from the game on Tuesday night.

Quite a few players here , who are bench/squad players only in the EPL.oldfart wrote:Looking at the proposed England squad for the two friendlies they seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Re: International friendly farce
One way to look at it is if you fake an injury you open up a chance for someone else to steal your spot

Well, if they're faking it then the England doctors must be in on the scam, since they're the ones that declare fitness to play, or otherwise.Cerveza wrote:One way to look at it is if you fake an injury you open up a chance for someone else to steal your spot

Re: International friendly farce
simple solution, only have friendlies in summer and winter breaks, make every other game part of an official tournament.

Re: International friendly farce
I still think that even with those injuries based on form and ability they can play decent football. Obviously got done by Chile but alot of players were given a chance in that game.oldfart wrote:Looking at the proposed England squad for the two friendlies they seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel.
