Re: Bye Bye Gareth
Good player, the Welshman. A few too many yellow cards for simulation, but still a good player.
Reportedly said he wants to stay at the Lane, but the chequebook pressure from the likes of ManCity & others will be relentless. And the lure of playing Champions League rather than Platini's bastard child, the Europa

He re-signed a 1 year deal, so i'd say Gareth isn't.

Re: Bye Bye Gareth
Has he actually signed?
If he has its just a sympathy deal. He will try and be a hero and get Spurs into Champions league again (which wont happen) And then will 100% leave, why waste another year at that hole?

Re: Bye Bye Gareth
He signed a new four year contract at the end of last season so they don't have to sell him, whatever they're offered. Of course, the reality of keeping an unsettled player is somewhat different. Reportedly, he's agreed to stay for next year, but with a £50m release clause to come into effect at the end of the 2014. Seems fair to both club and player.Ian_Wright wrote:Has he actually signed?

I only hope Wenger displays his usual ineptitude in the transfer market and they end up buying nobody.

Re: Bye Bye Gareth
The pressure is on him to spend this summer. He enters the last 12 months of his contract, so I believe the first 6 months is vital for Mr Wenger. How well will do might be the difference between how long & if he gets another bumper deal..Ian_Wright wrote:It wont happen this year, the man will spend.
Just like Fergie, Wenger will want to leave Arsenal with his head held high on his own terms not be sacked or forced out

Dunno how true it is, but I'd take it in a heartbeat.Daily Mail wrote:Tottenham will be offered a world record £85million transfer fee by Real Madrid as the Spanish giants attempt to lure Gareth Bale away from White Hart Lane.

Bloody hell,
I'd take that money, put it under Harry Redknapp's dog's name, and buy some players!
With that much to spend I think Spurs would be a force to be reckoned with next season ( IE: a team with a striker lol).

For £85 million, he can go on the piss in Spain for all I care.El Capitano wrote:Bale would take the piss in Spain.

£100 million wouldn't be enough to fill the void left by Bale.Nice One Cyril wrote:For £85 million, he can go on the piss in Spain for all I care.El Capitano wrote:Bale would take the piss in Spain.
Bale's proved that he can carry the team. Spurs should just build a team around him... NBA style

How has he proven he can carry the team, what did they win? I must have missed it?El Capitano wrote:£100 million wouldn't be enough to fill the void left by Bale.Nice One Cyril wrote:For £85 million, he can go on the piss in Spain for all I care.El Capitano wrote:Bale would take the piss in Spain.

Some people tell me that we professional players are soccer slaves. Well, if this is slavery, give me a life sentence.

Didn't know the club had to win something for a player to carry them... I guess a lot of people owe Arsenal an apology!
