Sat Div 4
Looks like the usual bullshit again for this division. Only 9 teams and looks like one of those only has an A grade. I don't think teams with just an A grade should be in 2 team divisions. Our B garde will get 14 games only now.

Re: Sat Div 4
Hi Sean, are you able to provide us with the fixtures? I have contacted SAASL but haven't received anything from them.
We will definitely be fielding two sides... I thought you had to go to div 5 if you only had 1 team?

Re: Sat Div 4
Fixtures were meant to be out on Wednesday -
McLaren Districts are also definitely fielding an A and B grades
We likewise will be very disappointed if we only get to play 14 league games?

SAASL can only do what they can do with what they have got....Clubs need to take more accountability
at this time every season.
There are always clubs at pre season that, start up, pull out, add sides, lose sides, say this, mean that.....
Must be a nightmare to deal with.

I see there is a team called Adelaide Simba Heroes, where did they play last year or are they a new team?

Thanks Sean, it was good to let the boys know at training who we play first up.
We have 6 home games and a bye in the first 9 rounds?

You still didn't say which of the teams you believe doesn't have a reserve team?Sean at Strath wrote:Looks like the usual Barossa Pearl again for this division. I think it's Adelaide Uni Grey. Only because they had grey in Div 4B as a stand alone side a few years back.gooner4life wrote:You still didn't say which of the teams you believe doesn't have a reserve team?Sean at Strath wrote:Looks like the usual Barossa Pearl again for this division. A div with 9 teams and only 8 that actually fit to the structure of the leagues rules (two teams) seems pretty poor, would be better pushing teams up and making 3 divs, then we would also get a decent amount of games.

I'd rather 4 divisions myself.mouny11 wrote:A div with 9 teams and only 8 that actually fit to the structure of the leagues rules (two teams) seems pretty poor, would be better pushing teams up and making 3 divs, then we would also get a decent amount of games.

Re: Sat Div 4
Surely SAASL can't magically make teams appear, it's the lowest division. You take what's left over.
Only other way would have been 8 teams and a 21 game season. The someone would have moaned that there was too many games.

Re: Sat Div 4
In Div 4B, there is a bye & a game against a non-existant AU Grey team each round.
If you really want the extra games, find out who that team is, and see if you can have friendlies during that week.

Re: Sat Div 4
Personally we don't mind whether we get 21 games, 18 etc. Just think 14 is not enough to keep players interested. Strath is a town where the aussie rules club is very strong and we have to compete every year for players. 2 years ago our B grade played 11 games only, due to forfeits, having teams with no b grade and byes. Last year we lost most of those b grade players.

Got to agree there 16 games is way too few (or 14 if Adelaide uni do only have 1 team)

Great Idea and will help keep your B's interested

Rather than two 4B teams sitting out, I'm sure they'd be interested in playing rather than not.
Isn't that what everyone above is saying - they want more games??
