If the temp is still forecasted to be 38 on Monday the game will kick off at 7pm

FFSA will let the teams know tomorrow morning (Friday)

Or not, game changed to Sunday 17th March 3:00pm at Park 18.

Please be advised that as per correspondence with the affected clubs the Adelaide Airport Charity Cup will now be held on Sunday 17 March at 3:00pm at Park 18, Cnr Hutt St & South Tce.

The Adelaide City v Cumberland United and Adelaide University v MUWFC Round 1 Premier League games will be postponed to accommodate this. The Reserves Adelaide City v Cumberland United and Adelaide University v MUWFC games will be held 1:00pm at Park 18.

I kinda agree, why wasnt it played yesterday evening ? Long weekend, no clash with Adelaide Utd game, no interruption to the fixtures.

You would think the ffsa would like to max the fundraising for the cause, but off course with the other problem being if other teams are playing who is going to go to watch the game at that time slot?? Why not a friday night game or another evening game??

If the Prems and reserves season starts this Sunday as per the draft fixtures may be less watching.
The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.

Any thought to having this worthy tournament during a mid-season break? If there isn’t one, maybe one should be included into the fixture. June/July??? Cooler weather, less competition from other events on in SA ie Womad, Fringe, Festival, Future Music, etc.

Anyone who complains that it should go on irrespective of the weather needs their head read. Never agreed to any games or trial going on when temp past 30. The humidity and heat can cause serious injury. Fact.

That's why changing it to a night game would seem to have been a better option. Even if they pushed the start time back a bit further to 7:30 or 8 pm to allow for the heat. I think a night game is a better spectacle and the crowd is likely to be a bit bigger. You'd think FFSA want people attending yet they schedule it at a time where it clashes with other games.

Well fixtures are out ( http://www.sportingpulse.com/assoc_page ... mpetitions ) that means MUWFC and Uni will need to play a catch up game.
I know the charity game raises money but it should not have priority over the fixtures for the season.
How about they play it at the end of the season shouldnt be any heat issues in September.

???

I dont know about that ?
Why do soft ball, cricket and tennis ( which is on hardcourt , makes it even hotter ) can have upto have 37 degrees as their max ? most school sports, still go ahead unless the forecast is over 34 degrees...fact.

Why you ask?

Because its a winter sport. The others are summer sports.

Because its dangerous to the health.

Because I want to see a decent game. Watching players struggle with the game in the heat is stupid.

Because its not cricket. Tennis. Softball. Apart from Tennis, the others are quite sedentary.

Because it can be changed and it should be a mid-season

You make some valid points SAD GAL, I should have clarified, i was questioning over 30 degrees, i would think that upto 33 degrees should be okay to play during the day.
Maybe even go one step further and include interchange just for this match ?

These are Premier League players, they should be fit enough to handle the conditions, with drink breaks half way through each half.

I would prefer to keep with the tradition of keeping the game as a prelude to the start of the season - just my thoughts.

When was the last time a world cup was played in winter?

A-League?

But I do agree with where you are going, we played on MOnday at 5pm and I certainly wouldnt have my daughter playing in that, the 'warm up' was rediculous, the game was played like everyone had taken vallium, snails pace.

Not entertaining football.

 My was just a prediction based on the fact that Uni are a powerhouse and even if they lost R. Wallace still have the best line-up IMO. I still think they are the team to beat, maybe they were trying something different today? Haven't seen the game so can't comment, but the result is certainly an upset. I am not currently involved with the club though, so don't be sorry for me...

How was the game? 3-0 is a big score...

City all over Uni. They made an absolute meal of a couple of chances in the first half, could've been more. Uni didn't really get a look in.

Yes City was dominant after a keenly contested first half even though City blew a number of chances. City were also missing three players who would be in the starting lineup, due to injuries. Both teams should do well this season.
