All I can say is thank christ for that! It took almost entire nation 6 months of nagging before Holger got it thru is dumb head!
I'm very excited to watch this game!

Great to see Rogic in the squad took youth talent in the HAL getting noticed! Would have loved to see Ossie in the squad Valeri isn't a ball rag compared to Ossie's current form!
And of course I'm so keen to see Leckie get gametime. If Holger plays Archie over him I think I'll jump out my window!

On HAL form he should be last! But as I said before the Pisstards game. I'm more then happy to watch Archie knock them in for the Socceroos and go back to being shit house for MV!

It's a friendly. What does Schwarzer have to prove playing in this?

Surely Mark will be withdrawn at half-time so that Ryan can face some pressure when the Korean firestorm come at us!

And isn't Neill suspended next competitive game for his stupid bookings? What does his starting prove in a friendly? I hope he too gets withdrawn at half-time so we can see what Thwaite can do under pressure.

I think suspensions carry thru to next qualifiers otherwise everyone could miss a meaningless friendly and get all their suspensions cleared.
Personally I would still play Schwarzer. He's our No.1 keeper his position isn't under question. If he's available play him.

I love how Brosque gets in the squad over Porta when Porta is actually scoring in the same league! 9 goals in 10 games not good enough!

I heard there are some red tape issues standing in the way of Porta coming in.

Nah, Stuckey - I think you misread my post or I poorly worded it..

Luca$ Neill IS suspended for the next qualifier and can't serve his suspension in the practice game against South Korea. What I meant was don't play Neill in the friendly trial match against South Korea and use the opportunity to see if the Thwaite/Spiranovic centre-back combination can cope when the speedy Koreans swarm all over us..

As for Schwarzer playing in the practice trial match, that proves nothing. Let the back-up 'keepers get some experience keeping out the expected Korean blitz!

Starting XI: Schwarzer, McGowan, Neill (c), Cornthwaite, Thwaite, Thompson, Holland, Valeri, Oar, Rukavytsya and Brosque

Well I wasn't expecting the U23 squad but why play Neill and Valeri when they are suspended for the next match? Why not work out who you want in there instead?

Cornthwaite & Neill would get pumped in U16s , let alone vs Korea.
didn't realise we were back to long ball football....probably have to as we don't have any players that can control or hold the ball.

Got faith now!

2nd loss for Korea at home in 27 games. This is a big win! I now just pray Holger has the brains to select a similar squad for the next game.

Amazing game I have fallen in love with the socceroos all over again!

Exactly, Stuckey! Why Neill & "Mr Ordinary" Valeri? And Schwarzer instead of giving some experience to a goalie back-up in case of an injury to Mark? What did that prove in an instantly forgettable 'friendly'?
