FAO Bomber

Are you still "enjoying watching Celtic embarrass themselves in Europe"

What a fud. Stick to AFL, you might actually know something about that stupid sport.

Scored twice depsite barely having the ball. Reminded me of the Spain V Switerland World Cup game in 2010. Celtic made 83 passes for the entire match.

Although just read Football 365 and they are saying they had 166 passes.

I heard that 1 billion stats are made up on the spot.

But in answer to Jay, that is Barcelona's game. Possession. In fact, dare I say it, it really is quite "boring" to watch. They never hit the by-line and whip in crosses etc. Their players very rarely take on opponents"one on one". They wear teams down who get tired chasing shadows. In saying that though, the one touch goals they score are a joy to watch, its just the other 80 or so miunutes that isn't.

Good job Celtic, as per my original post we're hardly "embarrassing" ourselves.

Bomber is not in this country at the moment, well I don't think he is.

However, you're right the only stat the matters is the goals. You were outclassed and out played last night but you won that's the only important stat.

as Chelsea showed last year, how you play is irrelevant, what you achieve is.
as much as it really hurts to say it, well done Celtic.
Great result & you have shut up the knockers , including myself.
Never been the biggest fan of Lennon, but credit where credit is due.

He was listening to his greatest hits on his i-pod.

Seriously though well done Celtic first team to beat Barca this season apparently, it is all about scoring more goals than the opposition.

Stewart is a life long Celtic fan, wrote a song about them and has his own seat at parkhead!

Also well done Celtic, tic tac toe football is all well and good and having a million passes at 90% accuracy, but football is won by putting the ball in the net

Kop Madrid drew with barca I think?

Not to dimish from Celtic's fantastic achievement, RM beat Barca 2-1 in SuperCup 2nd leg.

Check Sky Sports and Football 365 then for the stats.

In the end, the most important stat is who scored the most goals and Celtic did. Having only 16% possession is hardly exciting football either you would agree. You took your chances, they didn't. Can't read much more of it than that.

Celtic should go through to the knock out stages after that result.

Not sure how he became a Celtic fan but he is.

I think the team always do a preseason weekend away at one of his houses from memory?

Barcelona frustrate me and I don't support them. The way they always try to walk the ball is annoying. Surely they'd feel the urge to shoot at times.
Also the commentary was shocking. Tommy smyth is the worst commentator to ever call a football game.

They play virtually without a striker to give Messi space to run into. Looks good when it works but like every system, it can go wrong

Mascherano yes but song no. Unless I missed a foul after he tapped a Celtic player from behind. Tommy smyth's reaction was a joke though. He lost it when song committed that foul but when Pedro was fouled in the last minute after having his foot stepped on he just said that Pedro ran out of room. Surely espn can get someone with an idea.
