Game started a little late, because the pitch wasn't ready, and despite it technically being a uni home game, Grange is not our ground, and we don't have access to the equipment locker, for flags, etc. Game started at 7:30. Everyone was told of the new time at 7, and our lads changed their warmuo to suit.

I think you must have been hit by all 3 drops of rain that came down at about quarter past.

I only saw the first half hour, and it was a lot more interesting as a game than first time around. More action in that half hour than the entire near 2 hour stalemate that was called off. Plenty of good chances, for both sides, and a ball cleared off the goal-line.

I heard (perhaps wrongly) that it was the infamous ref from the Besa game, who also "abandoned" a game the week before for a threat from a coach.

I'm not affiliated with either side mate, we live in payneham and thought we'd come out for a look. Didn't know I had to stand there and watch the full 90 minutes. When the ref called out that the game would start at 7:30, we decided dinner and a replay of MasterChef was probably a better option ;)

so the ref didn't say "this game is abandoned" then? The game was called off as confirmed by many sources (from both sides of the fence) but the ref changed his mind when the person concerned did the right thing.
