Osieck names squad friendly and two qualifiers

Post by Stuckey »

The full Qantas Socceroos squad is as follows:

Mark Bresciano, Alex Brosque, Tim Cahill, David Carney, Nathan Coe (GK), Adam Federici (GK), Chris Herd, Brett Holman, Mile Jedinak, Joshua Kennedy, Harry Kewell,Neil Kilkenny, Robbie Kruse, Matt McKay,Mark Milligan, Lucas Neill, Jade North, Sasa Ognenovski, Nikita Rukavytsa,Mark Schwarzer (gk), Matt Spiranovic, Archie Thompson, Carl Valeri, Luke Wilkshire, Rhys Willimas, Michael Zullo.
Archie again! What the fuck has he done to deserve a spot? He hasn't played for a month! Troisi misses out over this hack? The guy is 32 what future does he have? Is he actually in the plans for the WC? Its not like hes an unknown quantity we all know he's not bad at HAL level and frickin useless at anything above that!
Great to see Herd in the squad.

Not a lot of attacking talent though IMO. We have quite a few hard running players but nothing like a Burns or a Leckie making it to the top level yet. As we saw with the Olyroos Australia isn't a very threatening nation in the final third.

Well he's not playing first team football regularly but still I would have a kid playing for a Bundesliga reserve side over Archie training with MV only.
Troisi is his sides top scorer in the turkish top flight! Surely thats worth a call up?!
He hasn't walked out of the club he's just over here seeking legal advice!
