have to agree mate. I was driving down military road last Sunday, and I was wondering what all the smoke was. Stopped in for a look and those guys really had their grills fired up,did a great job.
Hey, how come you can afford ham flavoured when the rest of us only have plain baked beans ?

I get the English recipe one, no idea what the difference is but it's my patriotic duty.

So Strath played the prelim round, got through and then decide to pull out because they pull a sun div 1 side? If you enter the cup, you know the chances are you will pull a higher ranked side... at least they let us know wed!Mr X wrote:Kirk Hammett wrote:Westies have a bye.DOC wrote:any news on westies reserves? looks like the league has made a huge blunder

Clubs should definatley be fined $500 if they forfeit a Cup game especially if they have been drawn away & taking revenue off another Club & that $500 should go to the Club they forfeited too. If they forfeit a home game that money goes to the League...Stitch This wrote:dog actjogger wrote:So Strath played the prelim round, got through and then decide to pull out because they pull a sun div 1 side? ......

And dock em league points, it's absolute bullshit! Forfeiting is soft. Sometimes I understand there is no alternative but if it were a league weekend these teams would all be fronting up.KING NUGGETT wrote:Clubs should definatley be fined $500 if they forfeit a Cup game especially if they have been drawn away & taking revenue off another Club & that $500 should go to the Club they forfeited too. Re: Cup Round 1
Strath pulled out to some guys unavailable due to work and a couple nursing an injury. They were apologetic and it is annoying but what can you do.
From all the talk on here, I don't think we are going to play Blue Eagles as it sounds like we are going to be hammered. Should be a tough game and Beagles start as favourites considering we haven't made it past the first round in the last couple of years. Still picking up to win.

Re: Cup Round 1
The league can act... it just depends on if they want to! Amend the cup rules, charge clubs a deposit or impose a fine penalty for forfeits. All clubs have people who can't play due to work or injuries each week, but you would put a side out if it was a league game! Maybe the league should have approached Murray Bridge to see if they wanted to be re-instated?Jay Slowly Running wrote:Strath pulled out to some guys unavailable due to work and a couple nursing an injury. Strath pulled out, as Jay said what can you do?
unless the league fines clubs? as per the good suggestion by Nuggett,
Will the referee still command a match fee?
Im more intrigued what will happen in the Ressies cup with 33 teams in the draw next round, assuming Para Hills West will be added to the draw?
I hope they dont with players like Kirk Hammet available, the would be the early favourites

whilst I agree in principal to this (especially the reserves part - which I think is the rules anyway) but they are not taking revenue away from any club because you can't take away what you haven't had. If you'd been drawn away then you wouldn't have got any revenue at all.
For the record, i turned up once to watch our D grade get smashed about 15-0 in the cup away at Downs. Never once did we even consider forefeiting.
Maybe Millwall should have not turned up to the 2004 FA Cup Final, I mean we drew man u. Sutton v coventry in 88? wrexham v arsenal, Millwall v woking in 96.........

I was with the Sutton youth squad when we beat Coventry in the Cup and never once was the forfeit discussed - it was an honour to play in the cup and draw a big team for the revenue that would be brought in and the publicity.

It will definitely be a tough game (as last year's game was), but as a Division 1 contender surely you would be coming to Marden confident of a win.
