The 99% of course I cant prove, but I think you are mad if you dont think its true. All agents care about is their cut, and they do the deals.Litmanen wrote:Is this assuming they'd start for both teams?NickyTanner wrote:if a player was offered 100k a week to go to City and CL or 150K a week to go to Liverpool....99% would go to LFC.
I thought players went places to win things? Its what you said earlier.... now you're saying its only money?
Feel free to post evidence that supports your 99% of players statement too. I can't wait to read it.
Nail on head.Nice One Cyril wrote:The reality is, the driving forces are different for different players at differing times of their careers and very much depends at what level they play.
But for the fans, it's all about winning trophies (even the League Cup). Walking down Wembley Way in May is hard to beat.
I know a player who swapped clubs for an extra $50 a week piss poor really...Major Tom wrote:Or $20/$30 a week if playing Super League35 years wrote:...... it's sad to see but majority of players would jump ship for an extra 20/30k a week

Not glory hunter at all, you support a team, form an early age, for whatever reason, and stay with them.Litmanen wrote:Nice One Cyril wrote:The reality is, the driving forces are different for different players at differing times of their careers and very much depends at what level they play.

This implies all fans are just glory hunters and don't care for the club.
Not saying you guys are, i'm just saying it's not as black and white as you just made it.

At the start of next season this is my wish list (of course it wont happen). I think it makes it pretty clear. In order of preference
1 Win The league
2 Win the FA CUp
3 Win the Europa League
4 Win th4 Carling Cup
5 Get 2nd-4th place
Saldy ,many fans would have number 5 as number 2
I would just swap 4 and 5, but cant see why both couldnt be done anyway!NickyTanner wrote:You really are making something out of nothing.

Ridiculous. If Liverpool finish 8th but with a Cup double this season... then next season finish 4th but with no Cups... are you going to say Liverpool did not improve?NickyTanner wrote:You really are making something out of nothing.

So you're saying if Pool made the Champions league ( the only thing they have left to brag about).
You'd prefer them to finish third in their group and play Europa league. ( which is essentially the same thing, with weaker opposition).
If you don't like CL, how can you not like Europa as much?

LFTWNG11, to me winning cups is better so yes I would prefer 2 cups every year and 8th. Obvioulsy winning the CL is great, and you can't win it if you dont qualify - I accept that.
Its all hypotetical, this season we have been rubbish most the time, I accept that.
This season to me the only winners will be 2 or 3 out of
Liverpool
Man Utd
Man City
Chelsea
Every other team has not won a trophy,
Reading and Charlton may see some silverware.NickyTanner wrote:Litmanen (not arguing) I genuinely don't understand what you mean.

I know. At least you can call yourself a true Liverpool supporter........from there, been there, member there etc etc. Fancy others trying to tell you what YOU should prefer....NickyTanner wrote:talking premier league, sorry Bomber.
If Newcastle get 4th i'll consider that a win. I was expecting a midtable finish for the season but to go top 4NickyTanner wrote:Litmanen (not arguing) I genuinely don't understand what you mean.
