Is that a tacit admission that KK might not be there?
There's no reason why wouldn't and shouldn't be there.

Nah just highlighting the hypocrisy cos there's a big question mark who'll be Spurs manager next year.

We didnt win the league beacuse Man Utd won something like 13games in a row (or 13 games without conceding)....we didn't bomb!!

We are better than last year, we have won a cup, in the final of another and haven't flirted with relegation.
I didn't say Liverpool bombed in the league, they got 86 points, I said they bombed out of the local cup competitions, which proves my point. Finishing higher up in the league is a better season than winning domestic cups. Would you trade the 86 point season for a Carling Cup?

Liverpool are not better than last year. They are 8th. Finished 7th last year.
FYI we finished 6th last year not 7th.

Liverpool are a much better team this year, by a long way. The style of football over the course of the season is incomparable. This season is a better building block to move higher than last despite a probably lower league finish.

I can't remember the last time Messi said he wanted to play for Liverpool to win the Carling Cup. He was too busy trying to find his way out of his European trophy room at home.
No I think a player will look at the clubs who may want to sign him and look at their current successes, then he'll make his decision based on whether he thinks that team will realistically win something or.......give the European cup a good shot.

Arsenal, Spurs and Chelsea won't fit into that bracket.......only Man Utd would of the current so called top clubs in the English prem.

I can't also remember Messi saying he wanted to sign for a team that regularly finishes in the top 4 but haven't won anything for 7 years neither.

I'm sure most premiership players bar a few from Man Utd would be envious of Jamie Carraghers medal haul whilst at Liverpool.

I'd sign for Mn Utd if they were after me because they always look likely to win a trophy and be competitive in Europe.

Are you saying that Liverpool have more chance of winning a trophy than Arsenal, Spurs, Man City and Chelsea next season due to the fact that they have won the Carling Cup this season?

Surely a top player is going to look at 2 things when deciding which club to join; the chances of winning trophies and whether or not he can play CL football.

If they are the deciding factors then Liverpool would be behind all the above mentioned clubs if we're talking about chances of wining silverware and of course due to the fact that they are without CL football.

I like it how Liverpool supporters now regard their club as one that regularly wins trophies

I never mentioned Liverpool being a better place to go............I actually said I'd sign for Man U as out of the current top clubs, and I don't regard Liverpool as a top club anymore..........
they (Man Utd) are the only club who you'd look at as being consistently in with a serious chance of winning a trophy or having a good chance of European success.

When was Arsenal's last trophy? 2005?
How about City?..............Man Utd are the club to go to if you want to be almost gauranteed to win medals.

If I was a top player I'd think I'd have a very realistic chance of challenging for top honours in the coming seasons with United, Man City, Chelsea and possibly Arsenal and Spurs if they keep their best players.

So you think them 2 have a better chance of silverware than Man Utd?

My point is that they do and will win trophies, and they'll win trophies that mean something, do you really think Juan Mata would brag to his Spanish teammates about the Carling Cup?

What you've been saying all along is that players go to win, and if you look at the two teams with the best players, Chelsea and Man city have the best players. They may not have the best manager/team, but the point still remains that players want to go to these clubs.

Man U have the best team/manager in the league, there's no doubting that, people go to man u to win BIG THINGS. That's where your argument is weak, world class players want to win big things, Premier and Champions league. Mediocre players will hope to only win something in their careers, so Carling cup/FA cup is a huge thing for those lesser teams ( Birmingham for instance).

Man City could still win the league, let's not forget that yet.

Ah ok.......................so all of these top quality players joined Chelsea and Man City for the chance of winning something
better than the Carling Cup.......................and not because of the money they were offered?

Fuck me, you're stupider than I thought.

Chelsea's wage bill for players alone in 2007/8 was £146 million.....2008/9 it was £167 million........................in 2009/10 it increased to £175 million
with this seasons yet to be released...............their top paid player is Fernando Torres on £13.86 million a season, who knows what Mata is on, but it wont be far behind.

Man City's wage bill in 2008/9 was a meager £88 million then unbelievably it rose in 2009/10 to £133 million with players like Yaya Toure on £185k per week! that's £14 million per season,
Sergio Aguero's contract is £16.6million per season.

Both of these clubs will again this season have the highest wage bill in the premier league and both may end up with sweet F.A

Don't insult your obvious intelligence by believing these quality players sign for the glory, Mata will be bragging to his Spanish mates about how much money he's on.
Come back to me when you've taken a long hard look in the mirror and actually researched what your arguing about.
Also how is my argument weak when you agree with me about players going to Man Utd to win "BIG THINGS"?

You're actually the biggest dumbass, i have to say.

If it was only because of money then Anzhi would have the players of all of those teams.

Money might be the difference between Aguero joining Man U or Man City, but it definitely doesn't make a shred of difference if his two options are Anzhi and Man City, or QPR or Man City.

IF you think it's 100% money, then i'm convinced you're Marado's fake Liverpool account.

THEN tell me it was to win trophies and nothing to do with money.

Toure left Barca because he wasn't a guaranteed starter there.

He left because he had issues with Gallas....It's well documented.

Speaking of credibility, i wonder how far into the negative you can go ...

EDIT: Oh you meant Yaya. The guy that was getting superceeded by Busquets, he left to join his brother at a club that was starting a huge project...

cmon man, to dismiss money out of hand is laughable.

Which world class players and how many titles would have been won at the Bridge without Abramovic's above average wage splurge? Same with Man City.

It's a combo of money, prestige, location, team mates, manager, chance of success among others.
For different players there is different weighting and skew. But no player is a charity, ultimately you can send a player at his peak (Eto'o) to minus 30 degrees for enough roubles so to speak.

Money comes into it at a point, if wolves were rich players that still had some ambition would pick a top four side . Eto has won everything so I can see why he went. Money is a factor but not the only factor. As you said its a combo. Carra stated it was only money that mattered in the city/Chelsea situations.I, like yourself disagree.

Is this assuming they'd start for both teams?

I thought players went places to win things? Its what you said earlier.... now you're saying its only money?

Feel free to post evidence that supports your 99% of players statement too. I can't wait to read it.

City weren't a top 4 side, their new owner doubled their wage bill by almost 100%...........but as you said they had a huge project.........the sane among us would call it a "paying silly money to attempt to win things"

Wayne Rooney did it " I want to leave united"

They bumped his wages up to £250,000 a week and then he signed Unfortunatly football is a business now gone of the days of a one club man it's sad to see but majority of players would jump ship for an extra 20/30k a week
An I'm on my knees looking for the answers....

Are we human!!!!!!! Or are we scousers!!!!!!!
