I will still be happy with 2 cups and 10th rather than 4th year after year. But no glossing over we are dire at present.

I am sure Van Persie will tell his grandchildren that he had a great year in 2012 finishing 4th and having no medals.
Whereas Andy Carroll can look back on 2012 and treaure at least one Wembley win.....

Re: DALGLISH IS NOT THE MESSIAH
What are you on about! Football is about winning cups. Arsenal's problem is they accept mediocrity, top 4 is considered a good season.
The whole European Cup is a joke now, we should never have been close to being Champions in 2005.....

King Kenny - flop - Won a trophy,, could win another. League form in 2012 flop
Carroll - flop - never sure why we paid so much for him
Henderson - flop - too young to judge
Adam - flop - a good squad player, lucas injury meant he had to play too many games. Not a flop but not a success either

Re: DALGLISH IS NOT THE MESSIAH
The table never lies we are a mid table cup team.
We have no Devine right to be in the top 4 and we can make all the excuses we like, but I couldn't give a flyingfuck about fa cups league cups or top 4.
First is first second is nothing, bill shankly.

I look at the great Liverpool Team. I think they won about eight League

Re: DALGLISH IS NOT THE MESSIAH
Key word is "Champions" league. I still find it bizarre that non-champions can play in it. I'd gladly hand back the 2005 trophy if they recalled all from those teams that won it that werent their domestic champions in the previous season.MR. DL wrote:Don't clubs sell Champions League merchandise?

Our ex-players may have been fantastic players but they’re cringeworthy in the media. And – generally – spout absolute dross.
Jamie Redknapp (ok not a fantastic player), Hansen (the least talented pundit IMHO), McManaman (not bad, but he can’t string a sentence together, woeful in commentary), Lawrenson, Souness and Nicol all rubbish.
Gary Linekar – I’m sure you’d now agree ;)
