And that's the reason why, a great game in the referees eyes may not be a great game in ours. Harsh I know but true...

Anton was a fantastic player for Inter but completely different because he was a defender where as the Chief is in the middle & gets much more of the ball & has much more impact on the game...

I think thats because a 3 point game for the Chief in the Referees eyes may not be a 3 Point game in our eyes because he has set the bar so high in past games.
Does that make sense?
yes....it would not be the first time someone has won the division medal but not the club best and fairest
Exactly right. A manager may ask a player to do a certain job of nullifying or even opening space for others. Not going to get you ref votes but does the job for the rest of the squad. So the ref will only vote in the players who are on the ball consistently etc rather than which players do their tasks handed to them.

i guess macnuggets you guys are in a better position to judge as you see him every week where as the majority of us would only see him a couple of times a season
On the opposite side of this is the fact that most Gardens supporters wouldn't see league opposition players rarely more than twice a season....and then only those in their division

Tissy Simeoni
Alby Soang
Mike Genikas
Gary Aitken
Geoff Armstrong
are others that might be up there.

The Cichanowski Shield on the weekend was a great contest between the two best SAASL clubs in 2011 & fdull credit to St Peters on their effort. This year the qualification for the Shield changed from Sunday Premier League Winner vs Challenge Cup winner to Sunday Premier League vs Saturday Premier League winner (which used to be Champions of Champions that no longer will be played). But well done to the Gardens on winning back to back Cichanowski it was certainly the hitout we needed going into Round 1. Bad luck also to Haywoodyablowme who was injured in the warm up.

Highlight was McConnell in goals still showing his 2 sons how's its done saving 2 penalties. Brilliant :!:

Ebomo is the best player the history books will show it & he's still going :D

Nuggett you need to edit your signature mate we didnt win it in 90 Inter beat Rostrevor but all the rest is spot on & hopefully will be updated at season end  .

I thought the history books might have had Bert Fuda in front on B&F + a collection of League Titles, State Representation etc. not withstanding others from the Inter era, Munno Para APAC era, Findon era in my mind qualify if the term "best" is used !

As I said he's still playing & can continue to rewrite history but besides that Ebomo has played both professionally & for his country not just a state team without any disrespect.

billy karapetis and tony scalzi been better for me than Ebomo. U have to remember Ebomo has been playing in the best team , put him in a weaker team where hed have to get more of his own ball = different story

Correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't Ebomo play for gardens when they were fighting relegation and then went on to win B &F for the league that same year?

The players in the middle of the park that are around the referee are usually noticed more, plus it helps wearing the captain armband. I think Stammy, Brooksy and others contributed just as much as Ebomo but would not receive as many votes, particularly Stammy.
I've yet to watch a Parafield game where Pauly has dominated his opposite player, only seen 9-10 over the last 3 seasons - just my opinion.
