Re: SAASL Pre-Season Cup
TBH....would have to agree, The Uni and Hawk sides of last year would just be competitive with Modbury IMO. But in saying that....a massive gap in Div 2 between them and the rest of the competition both in quality and consistency. They would have to strengthen up big time to stay competitive this year.BlackBrian_7 wrote:I don't know what you would mean by an easy season but we did achieve promotion with 4 games to go and win the league with 3 games to go.n8 wrote:BlackBrian_7 wrote:All Barossa Pearl aside, after spending a season in Div 2 it was good to play a good side again.
All the best to Ingle Farm in their league this year.
You trying to say their where no good sides in div 2 last season.....you can't really say you guys had an easy season....you didn't beat every team in the div remember that....
I also don't think that any side we played last year was even close to the standard that Ingle Farm was at.
So take out of that what you will.
Could have been put a bit better though BB.....never know who's watching or you might draw in the cup

Re: SAASL Pre-Season Cup
As a higher division side in the cup the lower division team always tends to lift their game against you to try and knock you off just as I am sure that all sides in Div 2 last year did their best to try and beat us as we had been relegated from Div 1 and were favourites to attain promotion, that's life.Jack Mehorf wrote: TBH....would have to agree, The Uni and Hawk sides of last year would just be competitive with Modbury IMO. I didn't mean it as offence to the clubs we played against last year however it was merely an observation of the difference in standards between Ingle Farm and the teams we had played in the season prior. It was a subjective point of view much in the way you have made on what you had seen of us.

That's how I perceived it mate.......I was involved with Cougars last year and would have to agree. Thats also being involved at Villa in Div 1 2010.BlackBrian_7 wrote:As a higher division side in the cup the lower division team always tends to lift their game against you to try and knock you off just as I am sure that all sides in Div 2 last year did their best to try and beat us as we had been relegated from Div 1 and were favourites to attain promotion, that's life.Jack Mehorf wrote: TBH....would have to agree, The Uni and Hawk sides of last year would just be competitive with Modbury IMO. Re: SAASL Pre-Season Cup
Going by results....inter seem to not be fielding their best 11 in this tourney or are they simply being outplayed. Having played them already I'd say That they are mixing their sides up in this cup???
