Exodus at Olympic
Heard RW and co going to Uni,they will do well next season if true as others moving there as well
Re: Exodus ar Olympic
If they want quality coaching for the forthcoming season, they should stay. However at Olympic no player is greater than the club, and if they want to leave, go right ahead.
Olympic Ladies (Reserves), make sure you are at the first pre-season date to discuss plans for this year and for a short, sharp session. Lateness will not be tolerated. Be on time, or expect to have a lengthy stay in the middle for 'rondas'. Any later than 15 minutes without a VERY good explanation, and you will not be joining in my session.

sounds a bit unproffesional posting that type of thing on here seriously you talk to your players like that and you expect respectMegaBonus wrote:Fitz

Re: Exodus at Olympic
I respect my players, I demand respect in return. Punctuality is not hard to achieve. I also like to have a bit of a joke around when the time is right, but training, and games, are a serious business. I would rather be a coach, and not seen as a friend, than be seen as a friend, and not achieve results as a coach (by way of player development, or results in the Cup/League). In saying that, I am approachable and friendly in person, but demand effort and discipline. Players who do the right things will be rewarded, step out of line and the punishment will fit the crime. Olympic is a proud, successful club. It should be treated as such by both support staff and players.
Looking forward to seeing everyone out on the track.

This is the funniest thread I've read all year...
Great way to keep existing players let alone attract new ones!

Re: Exodus at Olympic
At Olympic we are aiming to attract players that want to be the best players they possibly can be, whilst retaining all our current players for the same reason. And we will aim to help them become the best they can. I want my team to have fun (as that is the reason we all started playing the first place), to be playing in a welcoming, family orientated environment, and to play well, but also to be serious about their football.
If you all think thats the wrong message we as a club (and as a football community) should be sending to the women and young ladies playing our game then what is the right one?

Re: Exodus at Olympic
I agree with the discipline and approach you are having but I totally disagree with publicizing it on a public forum, this is a conversation that should be carried out in house...
And you keep referring to your team, how many players have you actually had out?

Re: Exodus at Olympic
I dont mind people knowing who I am and what I believe in. I'm not going to create a username and hide behind it. Anything I say is a reflection of myself, which is how it should be in any form.
And now as to your question, well, that's where my 'being professional' kicks in, and I will simply say that is for me to know, and you to keep on speculating

3. And btw, I agree with the ethos that fitz is expressing, but also agree that this is not the place.
Re: Exodus ar Olympic
Well put Fitz and I wish you luck.
Unfortunately the road of good intentions in the women’s’ game is littered with many souls who have given up.
Metro did well with this back when Romano was coaching and although in some instances it was unwarranted ie players not attending two club sessions were not eligible to play in Prems…even though they did not attend ONE session because they were at State. Strange call but hey…he’s the man in charge.
Players were sanctioned because they were on the booze the night before.
Wish you luck but the women’s game is unique.

Uni will have a good B grade , ( full of players who went there to play A grade )
any 2011 players might as well go to Para Hills Knights cause you aint going to get a game.

Re: Exodus at Olympic
How about calling the players or email them and letting them know in a more professional manner than on a public forum? I dont think a forum is the right place to be trying to earn respect from your players.Fitz wrote:At Olympic we are aiming to attract players that want to be the best players they possibly can be, whilst retaining all our current players for the same reason. Re: Exodus at Olympic
I agree Red-4-Life, there are better ways to communicate to your players than on an open forum. Im no coach, but a team meeting with their players would be a good option. Therefore any grievances the club has now can be talked about open and honestly with those players, coaches and commiittee directly involved.
Re: Exodus at Olympic
@Red-4-life: That is a massive problem within the women's game. Many ladies seem as if they don't want to play, and coaches are having to hound and promise the world to them. Its a vicious cycle as the girls are just let down by (in many cases) broken promises. Coaches shouldnt be waiting on the players hand and foot, ringing them for the slightest little issue. I'm not trying to earn respect on the forum, that's not the task at hand, and in no way my aim. The purpose of my communication on here is simply to tell it how it is (aiming at prospective new players) so that they all know what is expected of them. I truly believe that letting any prospective players know what the club is going to do (by way of my post) will have a long term positive impact.Red-4-Life wrote:How about calling the players or email them and letting them know in a more professional manner than on a public forum? @BlackSwan: Thats an AGM if it involves the committee as well. Paul Sortini currently doing an excellent job sorting out issues at the club.
