Goalkeeper

I have a 16 yo son that has been goalkeeping for over 10 years. He was a member of the skillaroos and played in several STIC competitions. At the completion of last year he decided to have a years break, now that the seasons approaching he has had a change of heart and is hoping that there is a club ...

Re: Amateur Under 18's in Northern Suburbs

Or will they be expected to play two games every week. Asking for trouble if they are going to play twice every week IMO, someone going to get hurt! Surely 1 16/17 year old is more than capable of running out 2 games in 2 days. I know I was. I played 2 games most weekends for 10 years. Not saying a ...

Re: Amateur Under 18's in Northern Suburbs

Not sure if it's in the kids best interest playing at both levels! I am all for 16-18 year olds playing senior football (If they are up to it!). However all kids from 16-18 surely need to be totally focussed on one or the other not running around in a game prior to playing Seniors (A/B/C Grade) on a ...

Grove have the same!
Most of the boys want to play Seniors when they hit 16-18

With the heat being forecast for 38 on Sunday, will the Playford Cup finals be played on Sunday or will the finals be moved to Friday night like last year?

Re: EVSC hosts Playford Cup

i don't think that was a fully exclusive Grove side tbh a few ring ins for sure. Point taken Horda, but all clubs have 'ring ins' this time of year if you are meaning players that played yesterday and are currently not registered with us. Vale had Hutchy, Moggy from last years PHE side and a couple ...

I can not speak on other age groups other than the U/12. This year FFSA have tried to do things a little different and held trials separate to players during the last school holidays, all clubs were notified about the trials for the Stic Program. A variety of kids trailed from many different clubs i ...

Always got to give it a go! Grove won the cup while playing in Div3 in 1997, and played in the cup final in 2008 while playing in Div 2. When your on a roll who knows stranger things have happened.

Any "football" reporter who starts an overview with "The Downs kicked ..." rather than using the word "scored" clearly has no idea about the game and is doing a favour for the editor I think the write ups are brilliant and great for Amateur league. As for you thoughts ontheblackburner, I would ...

Re: SAASL Sunday League - Round 1 Results

Opening 20 minutes of the Grove and Florina game started at a frantic pace, as would have most games being Rnd 1. Grove took the lead at the 25 minute mark, then got a couple more just before half time. Grove continued were they left off in the second half grabbing a couple of quick goals after half ...

Good hit out we started at 1.15pm and the temp was 31 in the sun according to my car... plenty of positive signs with the club scoring 10 goals in two games and having 9 different goal scorers. great effort from Bosa who played well in both games and worked hard all day. (the scoreline in the ...
