World Cup 2022 Forum

This is a temporary forum created for discussion on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. At the completion of the World Cup, this forum will be merged into the World Football forum.

Great memories Eagleboy- Is it really more than forty years ago? How time flies, just like Dave Narey's so called 'toe-poke' shot flew past the Brazil 'keeper. All it did was stir up a hornet's nest, they swarmed all over us as soon as we took the lead.
This was the only game we lost(1-4)but ultimately failed to qualify to the latter stages when we drew 2-2 with USSR.
Other game v New Zealand we won well but can't recall score.

P.S. Didn't mind this song as it was a light-hearted and jovial tune which certainly got better after a few pints of Tennant's lager (popular Scottish beer).

Sadly this sums up this disgrace of a WC , all blame lies with FIFA.

Don’t worry next WC is spread over 3 countries with 48 teams .

I've just read that FIFA made Brazil reverse their policy of selling alcohol at stadiums for the world cup

Eh, finally? Did I hear during this morning’s telecast of the disastrous home nation’s start that the fourth official and VAR knob are gonna help the central ref decide the amount of time added on at the end of half-time and the end of the second-half?
