FA Cup Semi Finals
Arsenal v Wigan Athletic
Hull City v Sheffield United
Crazy to play semis at Wembley go back to two neutral club grounds.
Gunners match played at a Villa Park and Hull game at old Trafford.

The FA has to pay for new Wembley somehow.

Re: FA Cup Semi Finals
Stayed up to watch the Gunners on ESPN. Tense semifinal to get out of gaol against Wigan after trailing 0-1. Per Mertesacker redeemed himself, scoring the equaliser after he conceded a penalty earlier on. Wigan started the penalty shootout by missing their first two and Arsenal were home and hosed.
Good for some confidence knowing they will be in the 17th May FA Cup Final, and now they can concentrate on picking up a lot of points in the last 5 matches to hopefully grab 4th place from Everton and a place in the rich Champions League.
Arsenal's program: 15/4 West Ham, home; 19/4 Hull, away; 28/4 Newcastle, home; 4/5 West Brom, home; 11/5 Norwich, away.
Everton's program: 16/4 Crystal Palace, home; 20/4 ManU, home; 26/4 Southampton, away; 3/5 ManCity, home; 11/5 Hull, away.
Hopefully Wenger can retire on a bit of a high, with the FA Cup silverware and leave the Club in the Champions League once again.

I'd prefer Everton to grab the 4th ECL position as Roberto Martinez has done a brilliant job on a fraction of the resources that Arsenhole have got.
The FA Cup isn't a certainty either for them.
But there again they always seem to be favoured by the referees, particularly at Wembly.

Yes, Martinez is impressive but look above - the Toffees have the harder run home and I think Arsenal will be in the rich Champions League again. And win the FA Cup.oldfart wrote:I'd prefer Everton to grab the 4th ECL position as Roberto Martinez has done a brilliant job on a fraction of the resources that Arsenhole have got.Con M wrote:Stayed up to watch the Gunners on ESPN. Wenger has been mostly careful in spending down the years, particularly when they shifted from the old Highbury to the new stadium. (An aside, loved going to old Highbury when I was in London). Wenger was teased in the old days by Fergie for only having previously coached in Japan, but was made to eat his words as Wenger consistently got Arsenal up into high positions.
I agree now though that it might be time to retire on a reasonable note as an FA Cup winner (again), and getting the Club to a Champions League spot (again).

I think I'll go to bed and record it instead - not really interested in who wins - except that I can't stand Arsenhole ( that's the team not the Manager who I actually like).

That 5 pm London time is a pity for fans of the game in Australia. Spells the end of the traditional FA Cup night Aussie party. Still we're at the 'a.r.s.e end of the World', quoting Paul Keating and they're not gonna care in England that the game is telecast at 1.30 am here.
Similarly FIFA couldn't give a fuck that the Australia v. Netherlands game on Thursday 19/6 is at 1.30 am here, and the Australia v. Spain game on Tuesday 24/6 is at 1.30 am here. Yet the inconsistent mugs FIFA did shift the Italy v England game time to suit TV audiences in those countries - so they could have done the same to those aforementioned games to better suit Dutch, Spanish & Aussie TV audiences.

Con, I think you'll find that the Dutch and Spanish audiences will be perfectly happy with a 5pm kick off.Con M wrote:Ha ha. That too.God is an Englishman wrote:Doesn't suit Budweiser.ozzie owl wrote:FA Cup Final kick off is 5pm local time, what's wrong with the traditional kick off time of 3pm?
