Lady Reds coach Ross Aloisi is intent on rejuvenating the side's culture after naming SA-born Kristy Moore as the new season captain on Thursday.
After kick starting her national soccer league career with SASI Pirates, Moore, 36, returned to SA last year to play for Lady Reds.
Moore's soccer career has taken her to England, Norway and the US.
She also represented the Matildas and England's national team.
''It's the first time I've been made captain,'' Moore said.
''I've been vice-captain before back in Norway at my first club Fløya.
''But I think it's good that we've now got some experience in the team because that's what has obviously lacked in the other seasons.
''When I came back last season the second oldest player was like 24 years old.''
Moore described Aloisi- who was appointed Lady Reds boss this season and also is head coach of West Adelaide - as inspiring along with the side's new coaching staff.
''I work closely with Ross (Aloisi),'' Moore said.
''I am really impressed with him so far and I didn't know him from before but looking at what he's doing is great.''
Aloisi says he admires Moore's leadership skills.
He said that after two weeks of preseason Moore made all the right moves to win the armband.
''Kristy ticked all the boxes,'' Aloisi said.
''A couple of players could have been captain but she is also a proud South Australian.
''She has this good aura about her and we're trying to build a good culture at the club and she is an example.
''She's a real professional and she encourages other players.
''Kristy always does that little bit extra and we as coaches have noticed that definitely.''
Aloisi also said the Lady Reds were bolstered this week when Matildas captain Melissa Barbieri arrived on Monday to start her maiden contract.
Aloisi also revealed that the Lady Reds is surrounded by a very experienced and respected group of volunteers headed by former Australian women's basketball player and coach Jan Stirling.
Stirling who is AFL club Port Adelaide's leadership coach volunteers her time as the Lady Reds mentor.
Former Adelaide United fitness coach Nik Hagicostas has also volunteered his services while Aloisi has West Adelaide's Joel Porter and Paul Pezos as his assistants.
NTC coach Geoff Hargreaves is also a Lady Reds volunteer.
The Lady Reds kick starts its season on November 10 away to Western Sydney Wanderers

Kristy Moore Named Lady Reds Captain
The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.
