in match betting

If advertising it going to be banned could this mean we'll get less football.

Betfair in England has their odds on advertising hoardings next to the pitch. How are they going to stop that? Will it mean those games can't be shown in SA?

Does it cover Pay TV?

Not sure how that will work, as adverts are national on Fox.

What did they do in France? Shirts weren't allowed alcohol branding on the front, but did French TV show games from overseas?

They were actually talking about this on the ABC this morning. They were saying that they think it will lead effectively to a national ban because they won't be able to seperate the ads just for SA.

It was this that led me to think of the premier league and specifically the hoardings with the live betting odds on them.

Not sure how france worked with that ban.

looks like it's only free to air tv, so is only going to affect european games on SBS and the FA Cup Final.

But when the federal law comes in, will that effect Fox?

I don't like the amount of betting ads, so I hope it does get cut down.

couldn't care less about the betting ads, sick of the nanny state telling us what we can and can't do.

I rarely gamble but if people want to that's theier perogative. If it was that bad then surely the government would pull the plug on the TAB and pokies.

More to do with the tax they're not getting from online agencies than the moral outrage.

I think Jones pushing for this.Government don't care for betting ads.I think this is not a proper
way to gain profit. Some people have had in their mind to ban such practices.
