NEXT SEASONS TOP 4
I think City will give it another shake, I think United will be hanging around up there, maybe with Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.
Anyone think different, will Liverpool have a sniff?

It'll be the usual suspects:
Man City
Man Utd (with investment)
Arsenal (ditto)
Chelsea (and... ditto)

Re: NEXT SEASONS TOP 4
not being bias here:
1) ManUtd (With Vidic back, and Hazard joining us soon, i dont see why not)
2) Chelski (I still think chelsea will be a threat)
3) Man City (time for them to flop)
4) Arsenal (as usual, not much investment but still make it to top 4 each year)

Hazard will go to Man City. What do MUFC fans think of the high chance of Pogba leaving to join Juve?ronaldo07 wrote:not being bias here:

Re: NEXT SEASONS TOP 4
Impossible to predict from May save that Man City will be there. If Mancini is replaced by someone more competant they may have it wrapped up in time for Xmas.
Spurs would be in there too if they make CL, qualify and can keep ahold of Modric,Bale plus adding a couple of strikers.
Who knows if Utd have drastic money to spend and keep up with noisy neighbours, Scholes re-signing might be a clue. But it's strange they're chasing Hazard when wingers are the least of their concerns yet re-sign a 37yo to play with another 38yo alongside Carrick, Anderson (lolz) and England's Tom Cleverley considering Fletcher is probably retired.
Arsenal are anyone's guess if they'll spend or not, but they've just come off their most expensive spending season ever so who knows if they'll back it up with more. Wilshire returning is like a new singing.
Chelsea if they miss CL may have FFP rules to navigate, so it might mean a drastically reduced spend.
Newcastle might be raided. But Ashley is still sitting on some of the Carroll cash + a small bit extra for Europa Lg football.
No one knows for sure how much money the Yanks will give Liverpool this summer to improve squad. Clubs circling for players already, Skrtl to Milan the latest. I'd expect Reina, Lucas, Suarez and Coates to all be linked away.
Everton are still waiting to be bought out by an Arab billionare.
And, Villa have sacked McLeish so they might be up there!

Re: NEXT SEASONS TOP 4
Gonna be a lot of clubs in the mix.
City, United, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, Newcastle (if they don't get raided), Liverpool (with the right signings), & Sunderland (full season under MON, couple of signings and they could be right up there).
Premier League could be going the way of the Serie A, in that each season could be very unpredictable.

Re: NEXT SEASONS TOP 4
lol @ people mentioning Sunderland, Everton, Aston Villa and to an extent Newcastle and Liverpool.
Unfortunately for everyone else Man City now have a title under their belt. They've backed up the money spent with success. Big name players wont scoff at the idea of joining them (success + money). City has the potential to be a dominant force for a very, very long time.
Top 4 will be the usual suspects.

Re: NEXT SEASONS TOP 4
Liverpool are going to struggle to attract the top players that are needed to improve their squad. Unless they find some rough diamonds they're gonna struggle again next season and I can't see why the really top players will want to join the club. The Dalglish/New Era factor that was used to sign players like Suarez is no more.BowTiesAreCool wrote:Gonna be a lot of clubs in the mix.

However, the Liverpool squad needs to be complemented (assuming no one goes) rather than overhauled.
Agger, Lucas, Suarez and Gerrard - 4 best outfield players played 1 game (of 48) together this season.

Re: NEXT SEASONS TOP 4
Can't say too much until the transfer window closes. With the squads as they are, Man City/Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea
Liverpool to scrape 6th and a Europa league place.

Re: NEXT SEASONS TOP 4
We'll struggle to attract the top players, definitely. Top players aren't necessarily what we need right now. A holding midfielder (as cover for Lucas), two wide players (Hoilett & one other) and a third striker (De Jong) could be enough to bridge the gap. It's the same old issues for us, not enough strength in depth. Lucas' injury effectively ended any chance we had at staying in the race for fourth. The mis-management of Carroll and lack of quality cover meant that we were stretched up front. Downing's poor season, coupled with the criminal mis-use of Maxi meant that we had little to no threat coming from the wings. The one area I'm very happy with is our defence. We coped well with most injuries, etc. throughout our defence this season.Jimbob wrote:Liverpool are going to struggle to attract the top players that are needed to improve their squad. It's about ensuring we have the squad cover and a few tweaks in positions & tactics, rather than a massive overhaul like a lot of people are claiming.

Re: NEXT SEASONS TOP 4
So, if RVP leaves Arsenal, they're nowhere. If Bale and / or Modric leave Spurs, they're nowhere. Man U will struggle (relatively) next year without investment and with Scholes and Giggs another year older. Chelsea's team is ageing, Liverpool's lacks depth, Newcastle will sell most of their good players.
Therefore, Man City by a distance, followed by one of the above, or Wigan

Re: NEXT SEASONS TOP 4
I disagree with those saying Liverpool won't be able to attract good players to their club. Juventus just built a championship winning team after coming 7th last year. Liverpool are still a famous big club and will be able to easily attract top class players to their team.
I think city will go back to back. City's win in the last minute makes it extra special and will bring the team even closer after doing it do dramatically. The rest is up to the signings.

You seem to forget Cyril this has been RVP's biggest year yet & forget prior he has done diddly squat for us Goons, yet we still have managed to finish above the spuds & in the top 4 for the last 15 yearsstraight.. .so your statement has little weight as it shows somebody else will step up & continue to play the Arsenal wayNice One Cyril wrote:So, if RVP leaves Arsenal, they're nowhere. Haywood, just for those who are not so good at maths, enlighten us as to the percentage of Arsenal's league goals that were scored by one player, RVP. I'll give you a clue, it's 30 divided by 74, multiplied by 100. And that doesn't take account of assists which I CBF looking up.
Without him, or if he gets injured, you're nowhere.

I honestly think our young squad is going to challenge for years to come with a few decent additions each year. We definitely need a central midfielder of the standard of Silva or Toure though. Apart from our keeper and central midfield, there's not much between ours and City's squads IMO.Nice One Cyril wrote:So, if RVP leaves Arsenal, they're nowhere. As much as I take the piss I actually believe that Liverpool are a lot better than their league position. Next season is definitely make or break though, was it the width of a post and goalkeeping brilliance or were they and their manager solely to blame for a poor league campaign? Did the cup runs really paper over the cracks? And are the owners willing to splash the cash again to bring in the players that will improve the squad? The Kop wrote:

These freak seasons happen all the time. They were able to sell a dud striker and replace him with 2 guns. Do you honestly think you're going to able to attract another Luis Suarez type player now? RVP could very well be on his way to Juventus. At 180k p.w. he would be seriously thinking about it.
