lost 1-0, j.cole in the 29th minute
we had a lot of possession but didn't really know what to do with it, chelsea have become a very good defensive unit. we should be able to break the shackles at home next week, we're so different at home.
disappointing we couldn't grab an away goal, but it's not a terrible result to take back home.
finnan in, arbeloa out
alonso/mascherano out, pennant in
must have stevie g in the middle, MUST.
i thought zenden did alright to warrant another game.
shame about all the long balls to drogba, i don't think we're even that bad with crouchy.
1-0 at half-time, roll on next week!

A much better performance than the one on sunday and was a good game to watch. I think the clean sheet helped and from here we should be able to progress.
It could have been more in the first half but saying that Cech made a magical save from a Gerrard shot.
Bring on Anfield.

Arbeloa and Agger were shite today. I dont rate Arbeloa at all. Its gonna be tough to keep Chelsea scoreless at Anfield. Drogba is a champion player for Chelsea though. I think Liverpool will win that game but dont know if it will be enough to win the overall tie on aggregate.
"Thats not sexy football!" and "Play the FAKE one... again and again"
so true bout joe cole, in the last 2 yrs chelsea has won the title, he was always the guy poppin up that would score the vital goals
chelsea kept a clean sheet and thats a huge thing, i expect them 2 go 2 anfield and look for that away goal 1st, if they score it, then its game over, i cnt see pool scoring 3 goals against chelsea
any1 got highlights?

Joe Cole is absolute Champion to have back and he came back at good time of the season when we need a player of his calibre,He has to be a starter for sure for England in their next matches as he has probably been one of Chelsea's best and even England's best especially during his small part in W/c last year.
I liked Mourinho idea of Shevchenko and Drogba with Joe Cole as a 3rd striker,Chelsea were a very dangerous unit tonight compared to liverpool who's really only chance came from Steven Gerrard which produced a great save from Cech.
Anfield next week i reckon 1All and Chelsea progressing,Think Pool were lucky that reina produced few quality saves as it could of been atleast 3nil if he didnt.

You must be joking tobes. Zenden received the ball more than any player on the field but wasted it 60% of the time. He was terrible. Couldn't get any decent crosses in, couldn't clear the first defender with his corners and his shooting from long range was awful. Zenden made P.Ferriera look like a champion on the left hand side. Perhaps Stevie G would have been better on the left and Pennant on the right. For the amount of possesion Zenden did receive, his distribution was 2nd class.._. I have to say Rafa has had something against Finnan since the first day he came to Anfield... he has been trying to sign a better right back since day one and has been unable to do so, now he finds a half decent player and straight away Finnan is out again!!!
Not happy about this, i'm not irish or welsh or whatever finnan is and i'm not spanish but i have to say that finnan has proven himself time and time again as a quality fullback and very consistent i can't see why rafa wants to get rid of him so quickly?????
Liverpool to win 90 minutes 1-0 then win with goal in extra time...
P.S. Crouch should've started...

Agree with you there Rooboy. Finnan should have started on the right, perhaps Arbeloa on the left and Riise at Left Mid. Crouch instead of Bellamy would have been a better option. The style of play LFC played at the Bridge was more suited to Crouch. Bellamy needs space to work with so he can use his pace and the Chelsea defence along with Makalele did't allow that.

Again you are right on the money Caramelas.
Paulo Ferreira's heel would be sore tonight given the amount of times Zenden crossed the ball into it. So frustrating to see Xabi, Stevie and Masch create the space and find this dutch loser time and time again, only to continuesly disappoint with poor balls into the box.
In saying that though, Chelsea were easily the better side on the night and if it wasn't for Pepe, it could have been 3 or 4.
Cech pulled of the save of the tournament from Gerrard's volley.
Drogba is so dangerous for f**** sake.

Excellent result for Chelski, and probably deserved more... I think they will go through, as much as it pains me to say, Liverpool jsut good enough... to still have a player on the books like Zenden is bad enough, to have him on your left wing in a CL semi-final is disgraceful. Questions must be asked of Rafa if he cant get rid of this bloke and ring in proper quality left winger next season!

Rooboy, Finnan was injured for this mornings game.....Neck injury
I don't think Rafa has a problem with Finnan as he was sinning his parses a few weeks ago in article on the liverpool website.
Rafa said that he wants 2 quality players for every position so why not look to buy a quality right back(he sold Jan Kromkamp in the summer....not saying he was quality). When has Rafa said he wants to get rid of him?????...I have never heard him say that!!
Finnan has made 43 appearances so far this year and Stevie has made 44. Rooboy I think your a little off track with this one.

We'll agree to disagree, i certainly feel that this is the case and i think Rafa has made enough full back signings to confirm his intention. IMO Finnan is quality and there is no need to enter the marketplace for a full back... now left wing = different story!!! then again HK might be back soon!!!LFC8 wrote:http://www.liverpoolfc.tv/news/drilldow ... 5-1834.htmrooboy1986 wrote:I have to say Rafa has had something against Finnan since the first day he came to Anfield... he has been trying to sign a better right back since day one and has been unable to do so, now he finds a half decent player and straight away Finnan is out again!!!

As you said Rooboy......... we'll agree to disagree but at the tender age of 31(Finnan) I think Daniel Alves would be the perfect signing in the summer.rooboy1986 wrote:We'll agree to disagree, i certainly feel that this is the case and i think Rafa has made enough full back signings to confirm his intention. you cannot serously think HK will solve our left wing problems?!?!? even when he is back, take him 6 motnhs to get back to full fitness/form, then he will get injured again...
Mark Gonzalez, I gave him time and benefit of the doubt, but he is garbage. This one is for Rafa to sort out, considering he hasnt even sorted out the right wing yet (although Pennant has been good in patches), so I think if Rafa with he funds he has, cant find two wingers and striker worthy of lifting us our rightful place, then I must say the man must be sacked.

I think we'll have to chat about this over a few chicken wings tonight LFTWNG11LFTWNG11 wrote:you cannot serously think HK will solve our left wing problems?!?!? even when he is back, take him 6 motnhs to get back to full fitness/form, then he will get injured again...

i did knocked in the head playing yesterday... but still all im saying is that if Rafa cant produce title contenders next season... he should be facing the axe... a season like this next season, in which we are closer to sixth than first is not acceptable!

in re: to the zenden comment, it's just that i really dislike speedy (probably more than i dislike bolo), but you mentioned the best solution here..
would much prefer to go with that than having bolo anywhere near the park.caramelas13 wrote:Finnan should have started on the right, perhaps Arbeloa on the left and Riise at Left Mid.
