There is no national leauge.. everyone has discussed this thru and thru how bad it is for the developement..rarara...its not going to make a national league appear ... we need games.. and there arent many teams around at this time of year who are willing to play and we are very grateful to the teams that have been offering to play us! Any game right now is a helpful game..

AGAIN well said teamie..I as a player have stressed as much as possible to our coaching staff that we are willing to do ANYTHING to play some quality national standard games BUT if other states arnt as organised WOT CAN SAWSA, SASI or ANYONE DO!!

Coyote its nice to see ur so concerned but its not reali helping us reading how bad it is blah blah on a contant basis...if u got some contacts with NSW or QLD then bring them forward and we would b happy to pursue to possiblity of a mini tournament..otherwise lets leave the NO NATIONAL LEAGUE TOPIC ALONE!!

Had you of stated that earlier instead of saying the teams we were playing (who dont have to play us but we appreciate the fact they spend the time to help us out) werent good enough because they werent helping our development - when its obvious we werent playing under 11's-- then it would have saved the opinion of people being raised..

4 years ago i took my team in a mini bus over to melb and organised trail games with south melb and keilor, now its off season fine but im sure the vic team would love to have games on, im sure sawsa or someone can organise a tournament here or there , over the xmas break, its not that hard

Post by KrAzY »

I dont know if you have been paying attention but a tournament was basically organised 2be held in ADELAIDE ...for nsw and vic ..possibly qld to come..but they all pulled out because of funding..

Apparently ... there could be another weekend like we had at the begining of this season with vic. in mt.gambier.. But we have heard nothing ...

The tournament in nsw with the likes of the nswis team.. is the priority tournament at this stage ..

as leps said there was a tournament organised but yes neither nsw or vic could make it over due to lack of funding. we have been trying to organise plans to go over there and those plans are still being worked on.

In the meantime we are playing any team available to us. We can't complain with who we play, match practice and working on formation and shape are vital to us at the moment and these games whilst they might not be developing our skills, they are helping to smooth out creases in our formation and current structure

sh1t i didnt know me working and going to tha hospital i would miss out on sooo much.. it really shows how bored i was when i cldnt work tha last couple of weeks.. seems like a life time has gone and i dont know whats goin on ahaha

okay both you guys have a valid point..
coyote : i agree playing U/11's is (possibly) a waste of time; but in saying that they dont have anyone else to play..
- second if you are willing to set up a match with you're club im sure kev would be more then hapi to play it..
- thirdly! like lollie said previously and lep, a melb/nsw trip is sorta out of tha pic as otha teams are frinding it hard to fork out tha $$, and also they asked our squad how much they were willing to put towards it and as most of you would say/agree they werent in favor of it as it isnt a "real" national league..

now......
lep/lollie :
he's only trying to help, we are a self funding organisation (basically) and we need all tha help we can get. if he is chucking some ideas towards; whether they are positive or negative we have to take them on the chin..
we dont get alot of help (being a womens sport n all) so if someone is trying to help or give some ideas we have to be more than willing to accept...

SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT
this is just like friends writing a 18 page letter.. front and back!!!!
and we were sorta on a break too guys hahaha
(private joke i guess lol)

Why are you guys playing in the off season? I played about 5 years all round and ended up burnt out, so is there a reason for you not taking a break ?

Our main comp for the year is a summer comp which is normally held between October and Decemer. As this format is not upheld this year we are trying to organise alternative tournaments to participate in. Everything is being put together at the moment so we have to keep training and playing in preparation for tournaments which could be as early as next month or as late as February

Hiya girls,

I'm the U15's (not U11's) Modbury Coach (for next year) of the team that played you on Thursday just gone. The week before you played the U16's side for next year.

Thanks for the opportunity to help you girls out. The lads enjoyed it - the experience more so than the score line - and the goals were very good. The first one was brilliant - while the player definitely aimed for it I don't think she expect it to go in - well done. The second one was from excellent lead up work and while we could have closed down a lot sooner, the eventual scorer wasn't your only option - good work.

From our perspective, we were disappointed that we didn't take half of the opportunities we created. Most of which were built from the back. Defensively, we were stretched by your lead up work. Considering the level you're at, I thought that we did well though.

Kevin asked if we could play you again and... well... boys being boys, they answered yes before I even had time to think. I hope that's a compliment. As long as we are competitive for your team, we'll definitely help out with a game. I hope you got out of it what you needed.

I'd like to think we were competitive. Playing 45 min halves instead of 35 min was a bit different but I don't think we let you down in terms of fitness. Our first touch needs to be better for passing but that will come.

Thanks again and we're looking forward to helping again out in a couple of weeks.

Sorry for the long post.

hey squizzy : we arent knocking your boys at all, we arent even knocking the sensation girls. tha problem most ppl are having atm is trying to understand why exactly an open national league squad is playing an under 15 boys team.
in saying that though those boys gave sensation a run for their money but they should be really playing someone of their staminer and skill...
i dont know if my post sounds arrogant and rude towards your boys and towards sensation but it would only be logic to play against i dunno a team of girls (made up of tha best sawsa girls/top 20 rated girls in tha league by refs) or a boys team that are that little bit stronger and better..
coz u dont have to win every game, fair enuf its good to win.. but u learn just as much losing...

Hey Shorty,

No probs and you really don't have to explain. You're certainly not arrogant or rude. I understand and completely agree that you need to be playing against women of an equal or higher standard.

Personally, I've been in Sensation's position (albeit in a different sport) and unfortunately, you have to take whatever opportunities you get. As I said, as long as we're competitive, we'll help out with a game when/if asked - no worries.

And no you haven't knocked us either. Actually, the biggest compliment people gave on this forum was that we were more structured, etc. that U16's. The lads will love reading that :!: :)

Realistically - and I told the boys - the game wasn't for our benefit. Although we'll take plenty of lessons and positives from it. What I said to Kevin after the match was that I hope you girls got out of it what you wanted.

At this stage, we'll be playing again on the 30th November. I thought I'd add this because apparently no-one tells the Keeper what's going on. (That's her words not mine - earlier post).

Thanks very much for the opportunity to play your boys. It's very much appreciated. We have been working very hard on structure and midfielders/forwards creating and moving into space and hopefully its all starting to click.

Thanku for ur opinions and hopefully we will meet ur boys again soon

very valid comments spaz..
im apart of sensation (just not playing) but yeah from tha sideline it looked like you boys were 10 times better than tha last squad they played. and im sure it brought all tha girls confidence up by winning, im just tossing up whether its better to beat an under 15 squad or if its better to lose to a squad of girls... i dunno

im just as grateful for your boys wanting to play us, im just saying it from someones point of view from tha side line!!!

Those boys def. did put up a big fight against Sensation esp in the second half, thought that it was a much better game than the week before, both quality and skill wise
