Re: Forfeits
Not necessary to rig it. Just make the Div 1 and 2 teams enter at a later stage in the comp. They already make the (much) lower div teams play a prelim round. Not hard to go one step further.Bacon888 wrote:A draw is a draw. Maybe add the Div 2 clubs to round 2 and the Div1 clubs to round 3?

Re: Forfeits
No, it wouldn't. It'd add an extra round to the group stages and a Div 1 side would have to win 5 games to win the cup.KING NUGGETT wrote:Are you joking that would meen only 3 games to win the Cup?

Anyway, was just a suggestion, to show that you wouldn't have to rig it. I like the upsets, having been on both ends of a few corkers down the years.

na cos thats the magic of the cup, upsets happensirstevieg wrote:I think the Amateur League need to look at this Cup draw especially the first round making it a little more even as no wonder there are so many forfeits happening...
With the Cup round the forfeit score doesn't really matter being 2-0 but when it comes to League i agree it should be a 5-0 scoreline 2 is too generous...
look last year at vista; west beach, the vale, wanderers and florina in our cup run and we beat them all, we wont talk about our day at hindmarsh though

Jees, finally a post from Nugget that makes sense. I totally agree with you, leave it alone. If teams want to forfeit that is their choice, they miss out on a chance for an upset.
It is frustrating, but there is not difference for a div 1 or 2 team getting a forfeit against them or missing out on an early round of the cup.

Always got to give it a go! Grove won the cup while playing in Div3 in 1997, and played in the cup final in 2008 while playing in Div 2. When your on a roll who knows stranger things have happened.
