Women with men

Post by Anonymous »

I have heard different story regarding some clubs, but then again it was from parents and need to way up only heard one side of story(This relates to player movements).

Also from my understanding with womens/mens clubs (larger clubs mainly) such as Cumberland, Metro etc clubs who have been associated with mens teams it is just a matter of time before the womens teams are forced to breakaway for a number of reasons, could be due to the increased number of teams and not enough area for all male and female teams to use same facility for playing or training, could be financial reasons, could be other reasons. But generally we have found that as Womens club increase number of teams and club grows, then generally they need to get their own grounds to have a reasonable area for trainning and playing.
In general if any club is lucky enough to have income from pokies, and can co-exist and womens club get their fair share. then it could be ok as the club would have some money behind the club. If any club can work well with the boys then Good luck to their club.

Sorry you mis-interpreted the view

Sorry, but I think you mis-interpreted my view, If I offended you I am sorry as it was not designed to do this. I was not refering to Torros regarding pokies, I was talking in general that if a club has Men and Women, If they do have pokies then financially they would be ok.(hence have re-worded earlier entry).

Training and playing Space is generally an issue with Mens/Womens teams as womens clubs get bigger with more teams, then becomes more difficult to co-exist.

I do realise that Toros do not have pokies.

I have the utmost respect for all mens and womens football clubs and people associated with them, all voluntarily giving up their time to assist there club. It is fantastic for the players and particularly for the junior players. Womens soccer will only continue to get bigger and bigger.

But as with most activities in any sporting area, some clubs do things better than others.

Once again I am sorry if I wrote in such a way that it was mis-interpreted.

I did not Bag any clubs or at least did not mean to bag any clubs as you put it.
As I said, If you mis-interpreted the earlier posting then I am sorry but I cannot be responsible for your interpretation of the posting. It was not related to Torros.
It is a personal view related to the topic being discussed.

Every club has good charasteristics and bad characteristics hopefully the good out weigh the bad.

Olympic have a lot of respect for people involved at the Torros
You have many very talented young players and some very dedicated parents and committee members.

At the end of the day most clubs are interested in providing girls/women with an opportunity to be involved in a physical activity that will help them develop as an athlete and a person, hopefully in an enjoyable club and team environment and that being through playing football/soccer
