Defence continues to leak like a sieve.

Midfield non-existent

Forwards all over the shop

The bench....Happy to be on the bench

Coaches - wishing they were at the beach

Plain and simple............if this IS the W-League then I think it will fold.

Joe Bloggs wrote:Well said Jeda, the game is a total basket case. With scores in the local game of 8-0, 9-6 & it goes on.
There is no talent pool, where is the next generation of young players coming from? The skills developed by young boys at 8-10 years of age are better than this W-league team, so whats the answer? Why don't girls start playing earlier, so when they get to 14-15 they can at least have some understanding of the game, skills like passing, heading, using both feet, which from what i have seen this year, most struggle to do. All parties involved in the game should come together to form a strategy for the next 10 years...otherwise we will cop more of these types of beatings again & again for years to come.
It's a worry. I watched the game at home; the ball skills, body language of the coach, and some of the players didn't look good for TV viewers.

I agree Joe Bloggs I would also like to see all sides of Men & Womens football linked closer together for development purposes, especially at a junior level. It does look like that the FFSA are moving that way.

Australia doesn't have the money that the US & Europe have to throw at their girls & womens leagues; limited resource limits the type of development our young girls receive and decreases the pool of talent.
That's why I'm a fan of girls (that are capable) play with boys, there should be no differentiating at the youngest ages. With the little money we have the simplest and best way for our girls to develop is to combine the resources, and encourage girls that aspire to becoming professional players to join the JPL. I reckon the biggest difference is that they are treated as "football players" rather than "girls" (hope you understand what I mean) - a player is expected to do a job and achieve something, a girl/kid/child is a label that subconsciously means - 'handle with care'.

Anyway, that's my view as a coach and a father with a son and daughter that both want to play professional football when they grow up.

I agree johnydep.

The girls should play with the boys for as long as they are able to cope with it.... My daughter started her soccer with boys up until she was 12 years old and then was told if she wanted to make State teams then she had to go and play with the girls. I really wish she could of played with the boys longer.......

SASI girls would have the best development as they have a good training program and play against boys everweek. only thing is, even though they are in the u16 league, they have a few overage players which doesnt allow room for more youngsters.

Hahaha!!! As it turns out, AU managed to make even SASI popular!!! As a matter of fact, watching the SASI squad is way more exciting than AU. Regardless of what you say here, the current problems of AU don't have anything to do with the development of players in SA. This is an argument that can be made if we talk about how to go on and win the WLeague and so on, but the truth here is much simpler. The players are shattered and the coaches lack the ability to bring them back. There are no excuses this year about team being picked late or whatever, because they knew about the WLeague this time and the coach had 12 months to make his mind up. The players all of a sudden look like they can't play football anymore and the coaches look like they couldn't coach a U13 side. Obviously both things are not it, there is some talent in the squad and the coaches are not stupid. But they really can't work it out. I heard MB is gonna get the sack this time around and have no idea who will be appointed in his place, but hope is a women's coach. it's too easy to just blame MB though, everyone has to take their responsibilities.
