It seems like some of the prems teams may have had a little change of heart to get the reserves back which is what, in my opinion should have happened last season.
I can only say that me personally and also my club were completely against the reserves being cut last year, and we certainly supported Toro's and their bid to stay in prems. I also spoke to a few other prems club coaches etc who were of the same opinion before and after that meeting at Santos last year where we were left in no doubt about what was to happen for the 2009 season. We were at a loss to know which prems club could have possible wanted to get rid of the reserves comp - they must have been mad!!

Apart from that, I think that adelaidepie and I are both hoping for similar outcomes here. But who knows what will happen.

Toro's Div 1 are currently 5th. Did most of their prems players leave after being relegated? Would this happen if Para Hills or C-Town were relegated?

PVFC, yes I know you and at least Alistar from memory did support Toros and the reserve grades. I wasn't actually at Toros last year I was a reserve coach at another club. I remeber making comments to my then club delegate that this didn't sit right with me and that this club and others should be supporting a little more. Unfortunately it appeared and I maybe wrong, but it appeared that not all prems clubs were bothered by the plight of Toros and or the reserve league.

As for the question about Toros players. From my knowledge some of their players were younger and have dropped back to their age team eg 17's. Plus Toros have had a few injuries which even tomorrow on their catch up game has left them a little low on numbers. Toros div 3 team also had a few of the prems / reserve players. In a tough division this team managed to go (if memory serves me correctly) 12 games without loosing. The problem was they drew a few in that time. Some good against the top teams some not so against lower teams. all in all though the Div 3 team was really competitve and the Div 1 team as proven last Friday when they beat the top team, can compete against the top teams.

At least if the league just consists of
those "sturt" teams - they can just have a big
round robin thing one wknd - it will save them having to organise 147 catch up
games after the season!!!!!

This is news to us at Knights.
I can tell u 100% that we at Knights will be back next year !!!!

sorry i wasnt sure, but there was some word going around suggesting that, but obviously you have just set the record straight....imo para hills and ctown are the strongest teams for prems, if you bring up a div one team youll be re living the same shit that ctown and para hills had gone through the first seasons they were in. But i understand the concept of promotion and relegation as well.

Ctown have bet the big teams before, but they need to recruit better and get more experianced players as well with what they already have, there two young & in experianced atm. The coaching dilmemma that went on 10 rounds into this season was like a slap in the face for the team so hopefully next season there will be more progression. The reserves team have done pretty good in div 3 considering you would think if you got dropped to a lower division most of the players would become more lazy or leave which was the exact opposite.

i wouldnt mind going to cambletown...
they have an excellent group of young girls.
if they had a 2/3 experienced girls out there pushing the young ones they could possibly be a power in the coming years...
