dont think many would complain if USC lion got put back into div2 by us div 4 clubs, make it an even playing field for us, but we are not worried about playing them, will just have to be at our best if we do have them stay in div 4.

why is it that USC seem to be able to dictate what division they are going into. Do they have photos of the committee fucking a goat or something?

This will seem like a crazy suggestion, and not knowing where everyone finished last season, but why not move the Flinders teams up
( the div 3 side to div 2, and div 4 side to div 3 ? ) and they have a C team as well ??
Flinders definitely do not want to go up.

There wouldn't be a fuss if teams played in the division they are supposed to be in, we would have a 10 team competition with the
1 extra being promoted from Div 3 (gleeson) to take the place of the defunct Allstars.
As far as I am aware that option has not been put to us! :? We were offered two places in Div3 which we declined in part because we did not want to have to play our selves, if Both teams were promoted that may be an option. The other concern was playing competitivley in which ever divisions we are in and so far that has not changed, but then again we have not been looking at each of our teams playing a division higher. Again if this was put to us as a serious offer I am sure we would look at it.

I tend though to agree that it would seem most logical that if USC Lion have enough players for an A&B team that they remain in Div 2.

I am already not happy that we will be having to play them in Div 4 this year as if they have retained only 5 or 6 players from there Div 2 squad from last year they will automaticaly become one of the strongest teams in Div 4. As I understand the only reason they dropped out of Div 2 in the first place was because they could not feild enough players for an A&B squad. That issue has obviously been fixed so they should remain in Div 2 if they have lost only quality then so be let natural selection take it's toll and in 2 seasons time they will be in Div 4 anyway!

We have promotion and relegation for a reason those teams capable of playing at the highest level do so and those who can't don't!!

This applies to both us at Flinders (If we had been good enough we would have been promoted) and to USC Lion if they stay in DIv 2 and perform badly they will get relagated. That's football!

As soon as we move teams arbitrarily around the division we just create further problems.

Rant over
Well said.
The reason I suggested your club,I know they would give it a go, and you have a C team, none of the other clubs mentioned do. That way we can align all 3 teams home and away.

REDBLUE EAGLES v COMETS VENETO CLUB
HAHNDORF TITANS HAHNDORF GROUND
MOD JETS VIPERS LADYWOOD OVAL
COUGARS MONARCHS FINDON HIGH SCHOOL

we starting tipping yet. or am i getting excited to early?

Comets...........Comets will show the new kids of Div 2 what its like to play with the bigger boys. Im sure they will put a challenge up after their strong pre-season. Very excited to be playing against my old club. Good lads and will be a good day.
draw............Think Titans could get up under new coach the real one, but tipped a draw being away.
Jets...........Should be a good game. expect jets to be the uni of last yr.
Cougars........Cougars will want to start the season strong after finishing last yr. and from their own words are going to be undefeated this year :)

REDBLUE EAGLES v COMETS - Comets should be too strong.
HAHNDORF TITANS Titans impressed me when we played them, however they have a suspect defence so it will be tight. Expect a lot of goals though.
MOD JETS VIPERS Modbury lack a bit physically as a youngish side, expect Vipers to put them under the pump.
COUGARS MONARCHS - Cougars will be too tough for Monarchs.

Who from the Cougars said that we will be undefeated, we lost 2 trial games so that blows that theory out of the water, it's going to be a tough year in div 2 with lots of strong teams. I wouldn't take your game with RBE to lightly, they have some quality players. We played them in a trial game last week and in what was a fairly even contest. Only thing that separated the 2 sides was a cracking goal by Dion M. I really think that this year is going to be the tightest year div 2 has seen for a long time. Good luck to all the teams this year and let's hope that all the talking Points will be about the great football being Played and not about bullshit incidents.

RBE losing 5-6 key players mid- way through the season.. And I mean KEY players (overseas trip)... they will suffer with out these guys- Same thing happened to the Vipers last season.

Thought 2 of them would only get a game in your b team?
Yes, few boys heading o/seas - lucky we have plenty of depth in the fight to maintain Div 2 status.

Good luck keeping them motivated to roll up every week. Letting a team down with poor excuses half an hour before a game wont cut it with me. I think the Cougars would feel they have more than covered them.

That and the inclusion of 6 other quality players which will take some time to gel. Biggest loss is last years captain Steve in my eyes, the guys that have moved to you either didn't play at all last year or didn't play when i watched the first team. Cougars would be happy with their current position going in to Round 1. Should be a very close season.

Modbury - Vipers -X
Croydon - Monarchs -1
RBE - Comets - 1

I played against RBE and used every bit of energy i had. Thats what each game will be like this season against all teams to be successful.

Good Luck to All!

It appears that way especially given how the Cup fixtures have been drawn with USC Lion playing in the Prelim (wouldnt have happened if they were in Div 2 where they were supposed to be), if it ends up with 9 teams then blame lies squarely with the League for not following their own policies about division allocation....

the problem is SAASL "offered" a spot in div 2 to 4-5 club. Everyone refused and we are left with 9 now. I hear they have now left it so not to bring a weak club up.

Does anyone know if this now means that only one team gets demoted or only one team gets promoted?

It would have to be 1 down, so that 2 can still come up.

Not necessarily Bacon - it will probably be two down and three up as has happened in past seasons.
