Just processing my videos now. I went to Victoria Park to have a look at Collingwood's tradional home. That too was quite close to the city, but not in Collingwood.Bomber wrote:If you're in Carlton you're not far from the city. From memory, St Kilda, Richmond, Hawthorn, are all close by too. Come to think of it, I saw one for Hawthorn and Footscray (might have been Fitzroy) and I am currently in carlton.

Re: Essendon Saga continues
Apparently below is the Transcript of Bomber Thompson's meeting with Essendon management:
Paul Little: Come in Mark.
Mark Thompson: Xavier, Paul. Why are we meeting in the cleaner’s closet?
Xavier Campbell: James has moved us down here. Says he needs the rest of the facility for something.
Thompson: It’s a bit tight guys.
Little: You can sort of sit on that shelf if you move the bleach.
Thompson: Nah, I’m good. You guys thought about giving me that $30,000? Might need a bit more for overdue fees.
Campbell: No Mark, we want to talk to you about the role we see you playing at Essendon next season.
Little: Mark, we value you highly and we’re keen to stockpile as many ex-senior coaches at the club as is humanly possible. Could be a long winter ahead.
Campbell: To that end, we’ve got an exciting position under Neil Craig we’d like to talk to you about.
Thompson: That sentence doesn’t make any sense. Exciting? Neil Craig? You can’t make me report to Neil Craig.
Little: We didn’t say you’d report to him, Xavier said you’d be under him.
Campbell: You’d probably report to Mark Neeld.
Thompson: You guys have got bloody rocks in your head. You combine Neeld, Harvey, Craig and the Sun King and I’ve coached two more Premierships than them combined.
What are you trying to do? Recapture the magic of the Demons’ 2013 season? I saw it, wasn’t that magical if I remember.
Little: Mark, I know you’re angry …
Thompson: Angry? I’d storm out of here if my leg hadn’t gone to sleep wedged between this mop and this stack of industrial cleaner. I served my punishment, sort of. I helped this club out and you put me under Craig?
Campbell: James served his punishment too Mark.
Thompson: What? An all expenses paid year in Provence with the family? A two-year contract extension? Turn it up. People would be lined up down the street to be punished by you guys.
Little: Keep your voice down Mark! He has lawyers everywhere. They’re probably taking notes as we speak.
Campbell: There are a lot of questions about your stability Mark.
Thompson: My stability? You’ve got James Hird coaching you! He’s destabilised the whole competition for two years and it’s not over. He’s got us meeting in a bloody cleaners closet! I’m the one who’s unstable?
Campbell: Mark, you have to take it or leave it. The club is a bit like the three of us in this closet, in a tight spot with not a lot of room to manoeuvre.
Little: And tainted with chemicals.
Meeting ends.

I know you are making light of it but it needs to stop, you guys (Essendon) are delusional if you think you aren't at fault for the situation and need to just man up and own up to your cheating.Bomber wrote:Splendid. What will be even better is if/when players get off, the rest of you will get all shitty.

If you guys get off, then Hird stays on as coach... and that is punishment enoughBomber wrote:

Is Hird that bad a coach? Your lot have a "proven" coach and he's taken them below what Ratten had them at!LFTWNG11 wrote:If you guys get off, then Hird stays on as coach... and that is punishment enoughBomber wrote:

Look at Hird's recordBomber wrote:

I would suggest Carlton's problems run much deeper than who our head coach is. Are you honestly saying you would rather have Ratten at the helm than MM?

Maybe they need to "enhance" their performances the James Hird way?Bomber wrote:Well one had the team on the way up, and the other has taken them down a few notches. Your problem I guess!

That's up to them, but his assistants from a couple seasons back seem to have gone, so not sure it will do much good. Perhaps the new crop will show what to do and a new way to do it.Black_Panther wrote:Maybe they need to "enhance" their performances the James Hird way?Bomber wrote:Well one had the team on the way up, and the other has taken them down a few notches. Carlton has yo-yo'ed in the last 4 seasons, no matter who the coach wasBomber wrote:Well one had the team on the way up, and the other has taken them down a few notches. Your problem I guess!

You're right though... it is my problem, just threw $200 at the club for my membership, why do I get sucked in?

"not guilty" is not the same as "not innocent"
BTW - what did Hird mean by the following....

Ask him. But to me it looks like he is shouldering some of why this has dragged on so long, not so much in anything that happened. Bottom line - there was NO evidence of any illegal substances despite all the tests - unlike the Collingwood pair.

Re: Essendon Saga continues
agreed Bomber....But....
what chemical was administered to the players???
why doesn't anyone at the club know the answer to the above???
The Bombers as a club have been punished. Hird however has been inadequately punished....
Im pretty sure that if a player wanted to, they could sue the club and Hird for a 'breach of duty' of a players welfare....
Essendon have been clever if anything, of ensuring that there wasn't enough evidence to be found 'guilty'....they can live with the 'not guilty' verdict but im sure the players and their families would've preferred 'innocent'.....the players and the club will be forever tainted...
why say sorry for something you cant control?.....unless he was responsible or at least partially responsible for happened....but carefully wording it so that its vague.

What others think is up to them. Hird has been punished but some people seem to want more. King hitters and other wankers in society have been let off for much less.MegaBonus wrote:agreed Bomber....But....
