Spot on! Full leagues schedule for all womans teams this week
My missus, whom is a Mother, has never once said she was not going to play this Sunday & I dont believe has even considered missing her game BUT yet we have soft c**s not wanting to play in the male leagues. Grow some balls people!
SAASL SUNDAY PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPION 2010 2011 SAASL CHALLENGE CUP WINNER 2008 2010 2011 SAASL CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS WINNER 2010 SAASL CICHANOWSKI SHIELD WINNER 2009 2011 2012
I think its pretty poor. Ive not had confirmation of the Forfeit yet so will see what happens. May change once they realise the Ressies will have to go out as well.
If we drew a saturday game we would still field a team- even if it was understrength. We wouldnt want to postpone. Thats the glory of the cup- you never know what could happen.
to says it to prevent a spanking as its a div 1 team- who cares- once again the beauty of the cup. Eventually they are going to draw a div 1 club. If they Played us int he semi or final- which are sundays- would they try to reschedule? Im guessing no.
Also what about our missed revenue for the day. We have planned catering, raffels, and entertainment for the day but now due to no game we have to rethink the day. I wonder if it was drawn on the sunday at their ground would they have forfieted.
And so far as in recheduling- that puts us into the same boat as them by having to player who cant play those times.
I feel sorry for those teams who have already been knocked out whom would have love to play agaisnt these clubs- even for the match time.
If you dont like the rules and regs of the cup- then dont enter the bloody thing and stick to the leauge only. Make sense to me.
I think my drinking club has a soccer problem.....
What are peoples thoughts/opinions on my previous comment about a grade teams forfeiting being docked league points? I think it's a fair thing to do. Forfeiting is showing disrespect to the league, the opposition and most importantly your own club.

I don't get it......most players have from the end of September to February off.....why would you not want to play football whenever you can during the season April to September.....where's the passion gone ?

i like the idea but it would be something that could prevent teams from entering, in future seasons, if they do require to forfeit for a genuine reason (e.g a club with only one team that has numerous injuries or genuine 'outs') Im aware that this wouldnt happen too often but Im sure at times clubs have genuine reasons.... Maybe all forfeits should have to be made as an application in writting to the league? if the club deems the reason as 'inadequate' then the game must be played. If a team then doesnt show up they should be deducted league points....?

The issue i see with this is that you are not docked points for forfeiting in the league so how can you dock points for cup. You would surely have to do both and there are genuine occasions where teams cannot manage this.

+1
I've missed the last 3 due to injury and was hoping to return for the cup tonight, however I will miss out again and I'm shattered.
A few years back I was at Munno Para and we were in div 3, played inter (think they were top at the time) in round 1 of the ressies cup, and knocked them off. You should always have a crack in the cup, that's the beauty, you just never know what might happen on the day!
Even as I close in on 54 and although I rarely get a game these days I would still savour an opportunity to pit myself in goal against the likes of Trimboli, Day, Brooks etc....

Great idea!
Angle Vale have drawn a Div 1 opponent... Can't wait to get a crack at a higher side to try rustle some feathers.
Why you would want to forfeit because of Grade/Division is beyond me.

Shit I think you are even older than our reserve keeper. I think he is around 52 and I thought he was the oldest keeper going around.

Never underestimate a team with nothing to lose, and everything to prove. All the best

I am not sure if he played that pre-season game but he doesn't look as old as he is, something to do with only being as old as the woman you feel according to him.

I remember playing a cup game 9-10 years ago when we were in Div 3 and getting absolutely killed. I think it was by Comets. I learnt more than day than I did beating teams who were pretty average in Div 3.

Around about the same time ago, when we were Sun Div 1, we got walloped in a cup match at home to div 3 Bosna! 5-0.
I didn't learn anything tho.

Angle Vale looked quite solid in the Playford Cup at the start of the year !
