Juve prepare Crouch bid

Post by BAGGIO 15 »

Juventus are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool's Peter Crouch as a replacement for David Trezeguet next term.

The Bianconero (pictured) is currently contracted to the Turin outfit until 2008, but he has not yet confirmed if he will stay next year.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Crouch could become an alternative to the Frenchman if he were to leave the Corso Galileo Ferraris outfit.

Rumours suggest Trezeguet could be included in a swap deal, seeing as he was already close to the Reds in 2001.

Juventus officials are scheduled to travel to London to discuss the transfer of West Ham midfielder Javier Mascherano and will reportedly take advantage of the trip to speak with Liverpool about the possibility of signing Crouch at the end of this term.

If the negotiation were to fail, Juventus have an alternative in Ajax star Klaas Jan Huntelaar, who is considered one of the most promising striking talents on the market.

The 23-year-old, who has scored for fun over the past few seasons, was paired with several Italian clubs in the past, including Fiorentina, but a transfer was never finalised.

I disagree... I reckon he would probably be more suited to the Italian league...

to be honest, i wouldnt mind him. I think he would suit our play and probably be something different to Rocchi and Pandev, who are similiar players anyway.

Remember what happened with Lazio's last targetman though, Igli Tare. You could count his goals for Lazio on one hand.

Tare is garbage, always has been, not happy when we signed him, Crouch would surely do better

Does help when you have Rooberto Baggio in the side. Or was Baggio not there when Tare was?

Baggio was there... anyway what is 15 goals in 75 games? Seems to me he had a bit of troublers scoring at Brescia as well

if that it his record i stand corrected.

i remember it being more frequent, i must be wrong.

however baggio has nothing to do with it, especially not at this stage in his career.

brescia had baggio and not much else, lazio have a complete side.

would you have expected to lose to brescia because of baggio.
