JPL or State League???????
Do we have a target date for publishing the team allocations for 2011, so we understand who's in JPL and who's in state league?
Forget fixtures, just some information on what competition teams are playing in would be nice.

Nominations only closed on January 14.
2011 Season calendar would be nice though.

Now, if you're lucky, you could hack through your ankle in five minutes.
Re: JPL or State League???????
I'm sure at some stage over the last 4 + months FFSA set up a blank sheet with the projected numbers in each age group, grade and league, and have since slotted the clubs/teams into that sheet. This is the first step before calendars and fixtures.Mad_Max wrote:Nominations only closed on January 14.

take U12s as an example, because it had the most teams, and therefore most complex:
34 clubs, 44 teams competing, 3 JPL divisions + state league
9 teams to a division
so the A grade teams from the top 27 clubs go into JPL div's 1, 2 & 3
leaves a state DIV1 group of 9 teams and a state DIV2 group of 8 teams.
The final tables spell out where to draw the lines between divisions and leagues.
AND THEN THERE'S THE POLITICS........

c'mon
took me 3 minutes, running brain power on idle.
surely over the space of an hour the entire league can be blue-printed, even if you're on tour in the US?
Just a date for you to apply an hour would be nice, yeah?!

1st drafts floating around - better off to give to clubs to sort out - lots will be unhappy.
perhaps 5, 6, 7 team leagues is what ffsa wants?????????????????????????????

Re: JPL or State League???????
the current draft is ridiculous as some team who have finished out of the bottom 2 still relegated and they were not told otherwise all year clubs were not told that three teams will be relegated
Re: JPL or State League???????
I understood the JPL was created for sides with seniors in the competition??
Who then are the skillaroos? which league do their seniors play in? (u12 and u14 comps)
Who is Adel Utd in the 16's comp? If they are from the AU Academy they should be in the FA not FFSA??

An u11 team that lost 1 game last year, has been 'drafted' into the u12 "C" division..........
Yet clubs that had no u11s in 2010 are in A or B ????? :?
I dont know how the u12 A, B, C was worked out, but there are some VERY BIG changes that need to be made if it stays as an A,B,C comp......it really should be 'zones' if they have no idea in the abilities of the teams...........
Skillaroos are FFSA state girls I think

U17As = 10 teams this year, so only 18 games for the season.
I thought development wise it was supposed to be the more games the better?
Would have been fairer probably to bump Metros up to the A's to make a 12 team comp.
It does say the document is a draft, but I can't really see things changing much.
Time for some righteous indignation
Re: JPL or State League???????
Agree with Zeljko,
Raiders had a strong 11's who now appear in 12 c?????????
Salisbury - no 11's - now 12 a?????????????
Seems the twelves league has been drafted on last years 12's results. I know the guy is new however when you don't consult with the clubs and the strength of their development groups you only get more disgruntled clubs and ultimately a lop sided comp. that benefits no kids.

Mate that is diabolical planning from the FFSA. so the best way to get an A team is not to have a team in that age the previous year.slavia wrote:Agree with Zeljko,

Re: JPL or State League???????
If Adelaide united in the U16's is the academy team, these players are all from clubs!
Does that mean that they will be playing 2 games every Sunday, or has the FFSA forgot
to tell the clubs that they will be losing these players
What about Skillaroo Boys & SASI in the in the U14B League...Who are they?
Wouldn't these be existing players from clubs?
I think the FFSA may be getting a fe wphone calls for explanations.

If it happens, I'm sure all involved will have worked it out with the best interest of the players in mind.New Boy On The Block wrote:If Adelaide united in the U16's is the academy team, these players are all from clubs!

The U14 State boys will have a combined training (club & State) of 4 nights plus up to 2 games per week.
As explained by the coach, "if these players want to be professional footballers, this is what is required and what happens overseas". SASI train 5 days per week.
Just feel sorry for the parents.

If last years under 12's got done for match fixing does it mean this years under 12's go to prison as well?

Is it 01 April today ????
Either zone the u12 like its always been, or use the u11 2010 results to determine A B C if they want to do that so urgently......its that simple isnt it ???
You cant use a totally other teams results, to determine where a different team plays
Skillaroos etc will be midweek Weds games, and then back with their clubs for Sundays

FFSA Announce Establishment of a Junior State League for season 2011
July 20, 2010
Football Federation SA is pleased to announce the launch of the Junior State League for junior boys in season 2011. The newly established competition will provide clubs and associations with the opportunity to field a team or multiple teams in age groups from Under 13 to Under 17.
Previously clubs had only been permitted to field teams in the Junior Premier League, with clubs being restricted to registering a maximum of two teams per age group in past seasons.
“The number of children wishing to participate in organised competitions outweighs the number of opportunities. Those clubs with the capacity to expand will be able to do so without a restriction on the number of teams in each age group.” Said Football Federation SA CEO Michael Carter.
With the introduction of the Junior State League, the Junior Premier League will be further
strengthened and will become the premier Junior competition in South Australia The Junior
Premier League will consist of the most talented players who will play in a very focused intense competition week in week out. Each of the Super, Premier and State League Clubs will be able to nominate 1 team per Age group in the Junior Premier League whilst having no restriction on the number of teams nominated for the Junior State League.
The FFSA Technical Director Airton Andrioli is excited about the prospect of the new league
structure for boys in South Australia.
“It is important that the best play against the best week in week out. There is no doubt this is the best method for player development. Over time player development will be enhanced. South Australia will produce quality young players.”

Trust me will argue and your arguement is correct either makeit a 11 team or 12 team comp
and the biggest issue is we have already have had talk from some parents that they will leave so their son can play in an A Div Side so we will be lucky to have an 17B team
Re: JPL or State League???????
Totally agree Z. It needs to be zoned, like in previous years. Why change something when it isnt broken?

I thought last years U12's were more so of zone format than divisional??
I Know Ad City and West Adelaide finished 1 & 2 in the C1 group - had a look at the FFSA site and saw the clubs mentioned earlier Para Hills and Salisbury with Para Hills top of their group and Salisbury 3rd in theirs so how is salisbury in the top division this year as mentioned .. doing the math there cant be three teams from each of the groupings?? Some of the clubs B teams finished high in their groups as well??
Can anyone provide the draft set up by any chance?

Re: JPL or State League???????
Guess would be taking the top three team from the C1 N1 and S1 groups from last years 12's so would assume as follows:
2011 JPL Div 1 for U12 (9 teams)
Adelaide City
West Adelaide
Metrostars
Para Hills
Gawler
Salisbury
Cumberland
Cove
Comets
That would leave Birkalla, Western Stikers and Raiders all with very strong U11 teams last year in lower divisions am not associated with any of those three but would think they all should probably be Div 1 teams

... though maybe the reason Birkalla Western Strikers and Raiders .. as well as Para Hills were fairly stong in U11's last year was the fact that they had A and B team set ups (apart from Birkalla which only had the one condensed team anyway) most of the other clubs has mixed level teams so cant really gage too much from 2010 U11 performances as the other clubs will now be a lot stronger as will be fielding A team setups ... but still my understanding is the four that I mentioned were pretty good teams ..
