Great Day At Vikings........ Until !!

Left the Gardens after a great game with the over 35's couple
of roadies in hand and 2 cans of softdrink for my son.

Arrived at the Vikings ground just in time to see Ponde put 3 away to make his total 5 for the day. Ventured over to the BBQ for what was the first of my 3 visits to the BBQ today for a chicken sandwhich and wasnt dissapointed just a the salesman had promised.

The barman served me my 2 cans of coke in between each can of Jacks with a smile and
I must say the prices were very good .......the only problem like our club the walk to the
toilet is a killer so you wait as long as you can to break the seal.

Into the second half the 2 Vikings supporters ( I joke but there was only 8-10 of them and
about 45 of us) started on the crowd ...... they made some stupid remarks but over all
very humorous and kept us all well entertained.

After the final whistle we went into the changerooms to hear "The Gweet" give his final
ZIGGA ZAGGA for the year as he is of O/S...... must say he never lets the boys down.

Went inside to have a Jacks, my last for the day....... I had my coke in my hand
and gave my son the softdrink I had for him.

And that's when things just got "Ugly" I was aproached by a Vikings member and
abused for bringing in drinks that I had brought myself..... He was right I did give my
son the softdrink I had purchased at our club but was drinking the coke I had purchased
at his bar. He then said that we were all scum for brining our own drinks to the game.

This is the stupid part we had 20 people walking into his clubrooms to drink and spend
more money ....more money and more support than the 6 players that stayed after
the game from the Vikings....... !!!

All I can say is..... next time...... before you abuse ......patrons to your club ask the people
at the BBQ or behind the Bar.....How has it been today and im sure it will stop
people from making absolute DIKS of themselves.....!!!

If I got a game and all they have is a sausage in a bread and I want a yiros or maccas or hungry or subway.... I will go to the shop and buy that. Stuff supporting those clubs who stock crap beers and crap food. Clubs should put more effort into what they offer before they jump up and down.

Easier said than done particularly when you do a lot of work for the BBQ and people still don't support it.

A local deli struggles to bring in a dollar. They provide a very limited stock because they arent busy enough yet. They also charge excessively to make up for the lack of customers. This business is bound to close and join the rest.

Another local deli, widens the choice, drops the price and the crowd comes straight through the door....

Which club have u been to that has a huge range of drinks and food???


most clubs have the usual bbq, with snags, burgers and steak sandwiches. as well as the softies and couple of beers. Thats plenty to support that club. Im sure u could find something there that u can afford and enjoy!

Only limited clubs offer extra on bbq, like yiros or shaslicks etc, as well as few more brands of beer and maybe scotch or bourbon.

comparing a deli to a local club is just rediculous!!!

The club has a point when teams bring thei eskies and own drinks to grounds instead of supporting the ground they've just been to. I think his point is when you want something that makes you feel fed/full a sausage in bread doesn't cut it.
