Serie A Team Of The Week: Round 10

Post by Pimpong »

Pantanelli (Catania): Denied Reggina from scoring what would have probably been a deserved equalizer. Catania must thank their goalkeeper for finding themselves in a comfortable league position.

Zanetti (Inter): The last time the captain of the Nerazzurri was on the scoresheet was 4 years ago. This time he managed to score a tap-in which might not have been the most beautiful goal of the week, but was surely very important to pave the way for Inter's win against Ascoli.

Comotto (Torino): Great both defensively and offensively, one of the few Granata players who are really doing their utmost in this early part of the season.

Zaccardo (Palermo): Learnt how to score in the right goal following his dramatic own goal during the past World Cup. Very confident in defence and always dangerous when going forward.

Ujfalusi (Fiorentina): Held the Roma forwards as much as he could and even managed to score what proved to be an illusionary goal for the Viola.

Morfeo (Parma): Very inconsistent and temperamental player, but when he shows his stuff like he did on Saturday against Siena, then he has what it takes to be among the best.

Vannucchi (Empoli): Brilliant performance for this Italian midfielder, topped with a wonderful goal from outside the penalty area.

De Rossi (Roma): What a player, offers both quantity and quality, and his goal against Fiorentina was out of this world.

Corona (Catania): Becoming quite a surprise in these early matchdays, as the Catania striker has been scoring on a regular basis and some of them even being gems.

Ibrahimovic (Inter): Finally the Zlatan we all knew. Great movements, brilliant assists and important for the team. His only flaw is the lack of goals, but as long as the others keep scoring it does not matter.

Amauri (Palermo): Did not score but still showed what an amazing striker he is. If he does get the Italian nationality as it is rumoured, he will be just what Donadoni needs.

Honourable Mention

Julio Cesar (Inter)
Molinaro (Siena)
Modesto (Reggina)
Corini (Palermo)
Taddei (Roma)
Figo (Inter)
Bogdani (Siena)
Ventola (Atalanta)
