EPL top 4

Post by arxidi »

ok 2/3rds into the season, time for predictions

table stands as: (pos, team, played, pts)

1 Liverpool 25 54
2 Man Utd 23 53
3 Villa 25 51
4 Chelsea 25 49
5 Arsenal 24 43
6 Everton 25 40

my prediction:

1. man utd
2. liverpool
3. villa
4. arsenal

man utd too good. end of story
liverpool will just miss out... benitez under too much pressure to win the epl, and i reckon hes gone after this season. still have to play man utd at old trafford, and villa and arsenal at home.
if villa can keep up their form, they shld be right. next game v chelsea at home is not out of reach for villa... the only thing that will let villa down is lack of depth - theyre still in FA cup, UEFA... so plenty of games comin up for the epl's smallest squad. if they can get thru that tho then anythings possible... wooooooo villa!!
arsenal to finish strongly and leapfrog chelsea at the death
chelea's dropping off the pace; they still have to play villa and arsenal away (both games they will drop points i think) hence why
everyone is entitled to my opinion

A 0-0 draw at home to Hull does'nt help.

Arsenal have made some very nice signings this transfer window, eg. Arshavin, they also have eduardo coming back from injury, as well as cesc fabregas.

Quaresma on the other hand, is an absoloute joke.

PS: Spurs remain a quality side, I don't care what you say. The Feyernoord Jubileum Tournament doesn't win itself, you know.

and with manutd a game on hand ??
and most of their remaining game is in old trafford ??

i want aston villa to do better than chelski and liverpool .. but cant see them sneak into top 2 ..
spot number 4 is fair though ..

bye bye arsenal for this season !!

I'm still confident in Chelsea's ability to hold in the top4, depending on who comes in of course...but I still believe we have enough quality to hold our spot in the 4, even if we're nowhere near good enough for the top2 atm.

Arsenal will be a threat and the game at Emirates will be vital. But I still see Arsenal dropping silly points like they have in the past, even when they've been at full strength. They've shown nothing so far this season to suggest they're better equipped to change their inconsistencies, that's why they're out of the 4 and even further from top than even Chelsea!

It's brilliant Villa have kept up the pace, and I'm glad Delfino has stopped the talk of them falling right of the top4 pace and has finally seen their quality as per his above post :D

I hope Fulham stick it to Man Utd and keep it all alive, but at OT it will be very tough for them.
As for Liverpool (as well as Man Utd), I think they're showing the signs of luck you need to fight for a title - not criticising them, but I believe every title-winning side has a lot of luck, they sometimes grind out results they possibly don't deserve or get lucky in gaining results they shouldn't.

Pretty fair analysis.

I dont know which game r u refering to adriano ..
but i dont think we r lucky to win the game atm ..
our defence is solid as rock ..
and we r by far the better team against any other clubs ...
liverpool = lucky yeah ...

defio, lol .. wait till arshavin and eduardo back .. and at that time when u guys fail again, i know u will give us the excuse something like :

arshavin - need time to settle down as he's still new to the club
eduardo - he's just back from injury .. so need time as well to recover ..

yeah u might need time, but that's the time when epl is finished and u guys finished 5th or maybe 6th as evertoin doing pretty well atm too !!

even if you play well, and don't worry I know ManUtd are and have broken Chelsea's clean sheet record...it often takes a slice of luck to win in the 91st minute mate
